He say that "we all remember the Alamo"; but, he leaves out the fact that we *also* remember San Jacinto! It *still* holds the world record for most lopsided victory of an outnumbered force over a larger one! It was the battle that actually won the Texas Revolution!

If Texas were to succeed with secession It’s a normal assumption other states would want to leave with it like Florida to Oklahoma

I'm from Texas as well and I find it funny that other Americans think that Texas is just a giant desert

Anyone notice at 7:00 they mentioned California having more people but showed a picture of North Carolina. And they even put the NC flag on it.

I’m a New Yorker and I bet if any state can pull this off, It’d be Texas.

An independent Texas is so strong economically, it could easily become a North American Singapore. Also, recent events clearly show that Texas has a LOT of allies in other states. If Texit happened today, it would be a tremendous success.

Actually, this is a nuanced analysis of what an independent Republic of Texas could look like. I have seen other opinions circulate the internet saying that Texas would succeed or fail, so I really appreciate this analysis.

Quick correction, Texas did not become fight for independence because of Mexico outlawing slavery, but because Santa Ana declared himself as the dictator and “Napoleon of the West”, making immigration from the United States illegal, and tearing up the Mexican constitution that was signed in 1824, hence the reason that the flag flown over the Alamo had “1824” on it.

I live in Texas and stereotypes are so funny yet so annoying at the same time (cowboys, desert, saloons, tattoos, sheriffs, the Wild West in general)

To be fair if like 80-90% of the population in any state genuinely wanted to be independent from the U.S.A. I don't know if there's anything the U.S.A could do to enforce it's ban on secession without violently occupying the place. Which would not exactly be democratic or popular amongst that state's residences. I feel like if THAT many of the people wanted to secede then the feds might have no choice but to do the democratic thing and let them do so.

Fun fact: The six flags Texas has been under is where the amusement park ‘Six Flags’ gets its name from

Info graphics stated "if the Supreme Court gives States more power" like if its a bad thing. State power is great.

North Mexican here. If Texas gains independence, all 4 Mexican border states will emulate it, either to join Texas or to found our own Republic of the Rio Grande.

If this video was slanted anymore to the left, it would slide right off my screen.

I would like to see "What Would an Republic of Cascadia Look Like?". I wouldn't mind seeing that.

Santa Anna dissolving the Constitution of 1824, and the Congress/State legislatures is what lit the fuse. Slavery was never mentioned in the Declaration of Independence.
