Having been born and raised in south Florida I've learned never to talk in absolutes about hurricanes. It's borderline comical whenever forecasters are confident in potential tracks and strength of the systems. With that in mind, prepare for the worst and hope for the best lol

It's still going to rain, and North Port is still trying to get their homes fixed or built. My 84 yr. Aunt sat on a bar stool with her legs and knees up next to her chest, and my Cousin was sitting on left chair only with a blanket to kept her from falling into the filthy water with debris floating in 4 ft, of black water. their windows were all blown out so there were pieces of shared glass also in the water. So getting off the stool and chair really wasn't an option until help arrived. They both were praying all day for help and at the last minute some people came by in their boat looking for survivors, when my family got the help that they so desperately needed at the right time. The Lord saved them through our prayers, that's what we all believed for sure. What a horrible time it is for the folks that have lost their homes. My family included. May god bless them all, and keep everyone safe from Nicole.

Ian went fro TS to 1 and then a strong 4 in very short time.

I watched this earlier today and the weatherman made the statement that the models had Ian going up to the Panhandle during the reporting of Ian. Why are they trying to change the narrative. The Euro model never stated Ian was going towards the Panhandle at all. They always said in would go somewhere between Tampa and below.The American Model kept saying Panhandle and that was the story and Florida was sticking to it. They finally changed it at the last minute. They also stated it would drop from a 4 to a 1 before it hit and too that was not true. People better prepare themselves and take what they are saying as a guessimate.

I’m glad that we’re ending our hurricane season with rain. Our winters are usually so dry. Hopefully this gives our plants a good drink.😊

I want to know what counties have been called into a state of emergency. I live in South Florida on a boat. It requires special prep. And all the news stations are saying that Ron DeSantis has declared the state of emergency in certain Florida counties. But they won't tell us Which counties.! Anybody know if Monroe and Dade County are on this list?
