Preterism, the belief that all prophecies have been fulfilled, is not biblical. Unfortunately, most Christians, including most ministers, don’t know how to refute its claims. We’ll analyze preterism

When you said, I wonder if First Cup is Preterist? You gave a little smile. That was funny!

Great show, Dave! Daniel 9:27 is my starting point, then unpack it with Matthew 24. You gave a lot of supporting scripture in this one hour. Thank you.

Brother Dave, with all due respect a partial preterist point of view is also another possibility. You should elaborate on what a partial preterist is for those who do not know. I myself hold that view and RC Sproul did too. Host of Revelations has already been fulfilled in the first century A.D .. however, there is still much to be fulfilled on the prophetic timeline for the future. I do not believe there is concrete evidence to support your claim of Revelations being written after A.D 70. In regards to Matthew 24, better known as olivet discourse. Jesus was speaking about the near upcoming destruction of the Jerusalem Temple 70A.D. He was preparing them, for extreme persecution and martyrdom in the name of The Christian faith. Brother Dave, your ministry has been influenced and swayed in the direction of brother Irvin Baxter's teachings and indoctrination. Just because he said so doesn't mean it is so. Your interpretation of scripture, it's your opinion. Dogmatic assertions and assumptions does not mean it is so... To be fair, there is still room for other schools of thought on this complex topic.

The New Covenant with Christ was NOT about land promises to Abraham, those were fulfilled... Josh 21:43-45 “The Lord gave Israel ALL THE LAND He had sworn to give their ancestors, and they took possession of it and settled there. The Lord gave them REST on every side, JUST AS he had sworn to their ancestors. NOT ONE of their enemies withstood them; the Lord gave ALL their enemies into their hands. NOT ONE of ALL the Lord's good promises to the house of Israel failed; EVERY ONE WAS FULFILLED."

Dave you are in error, Daniel 9.27.
The Greek Empire fullfill the abomination. The Romen Empire fullfill the desolation. These event has already been fullfill, and cannot be repeated. Dave read the history!!!
The Temple will not be build by human hands because of the dimensions size is big as a mountain, it mentions many times in the old testament, God holy mountain will come down from heaven his Temple.

Refuting the Two Witness and the Rapture:
Key Point # 1:
We can confirm that the two witnesses prophesy during the 1st Half of Daniel's 70th Week and the 1st Half of the Beast’s Time because:
1. There is worship in the temple. The Beast will not allow worship while he is sitting in the temple. * Rev 11:1-4; 2 Thessalonians 2:3, 4 (See below)
2. They will tread the court and the holy city underfoot during for 42 months, not the temple
3. After the 1, 260 days of their prophecy, their dead bodies will lie in the street of the great city for 3½ days. People are seen rejoicing after their death and sending each other gifts, not Christ’s Second Coming. The Beast only has authority during the Great Tribulation for 42 months. This would go over the Beast’s time.
4. “The second woe is past. Behold, the third woe is coming quickly.’ The third woe is not the seventh trumpet, it is the 42 months of authority of the beast = The Mark of the Beast = Great Tribulation. You must follow the trail of the Woes!
The 5th Trumpet is the 1st Woe, but 6th and 7th Trumpet continue after the Woes. Rev 8:13 (NKJV) And I looked, and I heard an angel flying through the midst of heaven, saying with a loud voice, “Woe, woe, woe to the inhabitants of the earth, because of the remaining blasts of the trumpet of the three angels who are about to sound!”
1st Woe = 5th Trumpet: Rev 9:1-12: 5 Months of Torment = Tribulation Begins: Rev 9:12 (NKJV The first woe has passed; Behold, there come yet two woes after this.
2nd Woe: Rev 11:1-14: The Two Witnesses: Tribulation Continues: 1st Half of Daniel's 70th Week - Rev 11:14 The second woe has passed; Behold, the third woe is coming soon. Note: We can assure you that it occurs during the 1st Half of Daniel's 70th Week because:
1. There is worship in the temple. The Two Witnesses prophesy for 1, 260 days. The Antichrist will not allow temple worship or prophesying during the Great Tribulation. Rev 11:1, 2
2. The Gentiles will tread the outer courtyard of the temple for 42 months, not the temple. Rev 11:2
3rd Woe Warning: Dan 12:1, 7; Rev 7:4; 12:1-17; 14:1: 144, 000 Flee and Are Protected Before the Great Tribulation. Rev 12:12, 14 12 Therefore rejoice, O heavens, and you who dwell in them! Woe to the inhabitants of the earth and the sea! For the devil has come down to you, having great wrath, because he knows that he has a short time.” 14 And the two wings of the great eagle were given unto the woman, that she might fly from before the serpent into the wilderness, into her place, where she is sustained for a time, and times, and half a time. (a time, and times, and half a time = time of trouble = Great Tribulation) * The “Woe” describes what follows. It is clearly describing the Great Tribulation, which is the 3rd Woe.
3rd Woe: Dan 9:27; 11:31; Mat 24:15; Rev 13:1-18: Abomination of Desolation = The Mark of the Beast 666: Great Tribulation = 2nd Half of Daniel's 70th Week - Rev 13:17, 18 17 and that no one should be able to buy or sell, except he that had the mark or the name of the beast, or the number of his name. 18 Here is wisdom. He that hath understanding, let him count the number of the beast, for it is the number of a man. And their number is six hundred and sixty-six.
Key Point # 2:
Many people believe that Christ’s Second Coming occurs before the Beast (“The Antichrist”) manifests. 2 Thessalonians 2:3, 4 (NKJV) 3 Let no one deceive you by any means; for that Day will not come unless the falling away comes first, and the man of sin is revealed, the son of perdition, 4 who opposes and exalts himself above all that is called God or that is worshiped, so that he sits as God in the temple of God, showing himself that he is God. *** This confirms that it occurs after the Great Tribulation. (Before the 7th Bowl of God’s Wrath is poured out)
*** No one can be caught up (“Raptured”) before the First Resurrection.
1. Christ’s Second Coming: 1 Thessalonians 4:16 (NKJV) For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. *** The 7th Trumpet.
2. The First Resurrection: 1 Thessalonians 4:16 (NKJV) And the dead in Christ will rise first.
3. Caught up “we will be raised”: 1 Thessalonians 4:17 (NKJV) Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with the Lord. 1 Corinthians 15:51, 52 (NKJV) 51 Behold, I tell you a mystery: We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed— 52 in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. *** “At the last trumpet” is the 7th Trumpet.
*** Note: In the entire Bible, the First Resurrection only appears in Revelation 20:4-6 (NKJV) 4 And I saw thrones, and they sat on them, and judgment was committed to them. Then I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded for their witness to Jesus and for the word of God, who had not worshiped the beast or his image, and had not received his mark on their foreheads or on their hands. And they lived and reigned with Christ for a thousand years. 5 But the rest of the dead did not live again until the thousand years were finished. This is the first resurrection. 6 Blessed and holy is he who has part in the first resurrection. Over such the second death has no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with Him a thousand years.

If Revelation was written after 70 AD, why does John give time statements throughout the book pointing to imminent events which fit the description of Jerusalem's destruction from Matthew 24, Mark 13, Luke 17/21?

If Revelation would occur thousands of years after it was written, why does John say the 6th king is the one who "is" which would mean his present day?

If Revelation was written after 70 AD, why was he told to measure the temple, if the temple was already destroyed?

If Revelation was written after 70 AD, why was John told how long the Gentiles would tread down the city (Revelation 11) which Jesus referred to in Luke 21:24 which were the events from 67-70 AD?

If Revelation was written after 70 AD, why is there nothing mentioned about the destruction of Jerusalem?

If Revelation was written after 70 AD, how could there be other apostles alive (Revelation 2:2), when all the apostles except John were dead before 70 AD?

If Revelation was written after 70 AD, how could there be jews persecuting Christians (Revelation 2:9, 3:9) which would have been impossible after the destruction of Jerusalem?

Dave Robbins... what is the context for the Olivet Discourse? In other words, what Scriptures lead us up to the Olivet Discourse and Jesus' announcement about the destruction of the 2nd temple? Since you nor anyone else at ETM do not answer any questions here, readers might want to try reading Matthew 23.
