If Matthew 24 was not fulfilled within a generation of Jesus ministry then Jesus was a false prophet and Christianity is false. The preterist interpretation is the only way out of that predicament. I find it fascinating that so many great bible teachers preach a doctrine that makes their own God a false prophet.

Macarthur is simply wrong. Revelation was written to the seven churches in Asia (Rev 1:4, 11) mentioned by name. John was with them in the tribulation (Rev 1:9). Jesus told John these things would happen soon (Rev 1:1, 3) was Jesus a liar, lunatic, or Lord?

Revelation 1:1 says all was near Revelation 22:20 says the coming was “SOON”
1 John 2:18 says it was “the last hour”
And James 5:8 said “The coming of the Lord is near” way back then - SO LETS BELIEVE THE BIBLE WRITERS ! All happened in 70ad. That is very good news.

You didn’t really explain how it’s impossible, John. We people today just don’t understand exactly how terrible the time of Jerusalems destruction in 70 AD was.

The Bible clearly teaches His parousia was “at hand” then. Thus we are in the New Covenant/New Jerusalem/New Heaven and new earth. It’s fascinating that MacArthur addresses it at all. I think an awakening to preterist reality is happening.

The word earth used in revelation and in the gospels is the Greek word for land. Ie. Israel and Palestine

With MacArthur getting so many other things wrong, like Calvinism, Lordship Salvation, mark of the beast, etc., why would ANYONE look to him for answers about preterism and eschatology?

Now why would Paul say this if it was clear his coming was a future generation even🤔
