This is a very weak eschatological arguement against preterism. He certainly has not studied full preterism with diligence. The preteristic view is very compelling and highly accurate biblically. When representing these viewpoints, it is neccessary to represent both sides of the spectrum with diligence. This video does not do this.

Daniel was told to seal the words because “the end” was far off. John was told not to seal the words of Revelation because the time was near.

Intro: Daniel was told to seal his vision around 550 BC becuase it WASN’T at hand. John was told NOT to seal his vision because it WAS at hand in the AD 60’s. If 600 years was too much to be considered “at hand” by God, what do you think he makes of 2, 000 + ?

Keep your eyes on Jesus, not looking to the left or right, and what I mean by that is READ, READ, READ YOUR BIBLE, and search the heart, and mind of Jesus, as the Holy Spirit teaches, leads, and guides you through ALL TRUTH AMEN.

The only thing we were promised in this life were trials and tribulations. That pretrib rapture theology is going to cause a lot of confused Christians.

I hate preterism more than any other theology the amount of times I've had to listen to tartaria and mud floods and conspiracy theories that the devil hid the return of Jesus from the whole world just makes my blood boil

I’ve been thinking about this for a while and the more I study the Bible the more I think the rapture happens when JESUS comes back. I have several reasons and verses that I’m not going to take the time to post but even a careful reading of Matthew 24 and Luke as well as the trumpet judgements in revelation caused me to start to believe this. Also I believe that a what happened in 70ad and with Nero was a foreshadowing of the end. If those Christian’s went through that why believe that we won’t? I believe we won’t face GODs wrath like the rest of the world but we will face the wrath of the antichrist and the world, and that is ok. GOD has a plan and everything will be ok. We certainly wouldn’t be the first Christian’s to be persecuted and die in his name. I think that a lot of people just can’t accept that though. They are scared and in denial. Also the pre trib view is taught almost everywhere but I don’t see enough evidence in scripture to support it (in my opinion). But that’s ok too. It’s not really important. What matters is being ready. I’m like you, I hope I’m wrong but I doubt it.

I'm beginning to believe the pretrib rapture is not true. Lord help us through the days ahead.

Jesus's message was for the first century believers, for them the events prior 70AD were " the greatest and most terrific" that ever happened to his people (also Jesus's people= israelites) as Josefus describes in his first page.
All your arguments are easy to debunk.

You've raised an important point regarding the claims made by futurists and the preterist view, particularly in relation to Christ's promised return and the destruction of the temple. Let’s explore this further by breaking down the context and scriptural basis of both perspectives.

### Preterism’s Contextual Strengths

1. **Historical Events**:
- **Destruction of the Temple**: Preterists argue that many of the prophetic references, particularly in the Gospels and in Revelation, relate directly to the events surrounding the destruction of the Second Temple in 70 AD. This massive sociopolitical upheaval, witnessed by the early Christians, provides a concrete historical backdrop for the teachings of Jesus that foretold judgment against Jerusalem (e.g., Matthew 24:1-2).
- **1st Century Judgment**: Preterists emphasize passages such as Matthew 23:34-36, where Jesus speaks of the coming judgment on that generation, suggesting he foreshadowed the events that would unfold in their lifetime. This interpretation grounds the expectation of judgment in the immediate context of the first-century audience rather than pointing to a distant future.

2. **Interpretative Framework**:
- **Covenant Theology**: Many preterists adopt a framework that views the New Covenant established by Christ as having significant implications for the old covenant system, including the temple. They argue that with Christ’s sacrificial death and resurrection, the old system became obsolete, lending argument to the perspective that any need for a rebuilt temple is unnecessary.
- **Metaphoric and Symbolic Language**: The use of symbolic language in prophetic texts is common. Preterists assert that references to a new temple can be understood metaphorically as a reference to Christ and His body (the Church) rather than as a literal structure. This notion aligns with New Testament teachings, such as in 1 Corinthians 3:16, where believers are described as God’s temple.

3. **Scriptural Evidence**:
- **Immediate Fulfillment**: Preterism asserts that scripture often speaks to immediate concerns of its audience. For instance, prophetic warnings were intended to call the people to repentance before the impending destruction, making the teachings more applicable and relevant to those living in the first century.

### Critique of the Futurist View

1. **Extra Temple Requirement**:
- The futurist view generally posits that a third temple will be constructed in Jerusalem to fulfill end-time prophecy (as drawn from interpretations of Ezekiel 40-48 and certain passages in Revelation). Preterists criticize this notion, asserting that it adds a layer of requirement to biblical prophecy that is not found in the New Testament.
- Ultimately, preterists would argue that this expectation detracts from the completed work of Christ, who is regarded as the ultimate fulfillment of the temple’s function.

2. **Judgment Timing**:
- Preterists contend that futurists often overlook or reinterpret Jesus' statements about His return and judgment as being relevant to the first-century context. Preterists maintain that His predictions in passages such as Matthew 24 and Revelation were not about distant future events but rather were fulfilled within that generation.
- This perspective challenges the futurist tendency to distill difficult texts down into vague predictions that may perpetually remain unfulfilled.

3. **Consequences of Displacement**:
- By denying that the judgment and return referenced in the New Testament occurred within the first century, futurists may inadvertently distance themselves from the historical reality experienced by early Christians. This results in a disconnection from the narrative of hope, warning, and fulfillment grounded in their direct experience.

### Conclusion: Preterism’s Contextual Legitimacy

Based on the argumentation above, it appears that preterism carries significant contextual weight by firmly rooting its interpretations in the historical and sociocultural realities of the first century. By engaging with historical events, scriptural context, and original audience meanings, preterism presents a cohesive view that holds its bases in the tangible realities experienced by early believers.

While futurism brings a hopeful forward-looking perspective, preterism’s strength lies in its ability to connect the urgency of scripture directly to events that shaped early Christianity. It provides a fresh understanding of the texts that resonate meaningfully within the historical timeline rather than abstracting them into a future that remains indefinitely elusive.

deep-ai.. preterism wins every time. i just beat deep learning and the bloke ai with 7billion parameters. preterism is undefeatable.

Bro needs to do some SERIOUS Bible study. Postmill partial/full preterism deals with all of these. And many of his points (that the gospel was not spread over the ‘earth’ or ‘all the nations’) are in complete disagreement with Paul and his own writings. Check out Matthew 24 14, then see Colossians 1:5-6 & 23. Look at the Greek word Christ uses in Matthew and then look at the Greek words Paul uses. Is Paul a liar? Was Jesus wrong?

Jesus said “all of these things will come upon this generation” (Matthew 23:36), “this generation will not pass away until ALL these things are fulfilled” (Matthew 24:34), and “there are some standing here who will not taste death until they see the son of man coming in his kingdom” (Matthew 16:28). You have to insert breaks in the text that are not there to make any of these make sense in a pre-mid-post- or prewrath view of the kingdom, the millennium, or the rapture (none of which are a scriptural teaching). Do a language study. And be careful not to deny that Jesus came, and is reigning now. Do not use your newspaper to interpret these texts, but let the scriptures speak for themselves. They are God-breathed, not defined by current events.

Matthew 24
27 For as the lightning cometh out of the east, and shineth even unto the west; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.

Revelation 1:7
Behold, he cometh with clouds; and Every Eye shall see him, and they also which pierced him: and all kindreds of the earth shall wail because of him. Even so, Amen.

Matthew 24
30 And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.

Your reasoning for why Preterism is illogical was well-exegeted. The comments below highlight how widespread the level of biblical illiteracy is. When I think of Peter's warning: "In the last days mockers will come with their mocking, following after their own lusts, and saying, 'Where is the promise of His coming?'" I've never been more sure of the imminent, anytime return of my Lord Jesus Christ. We're told what to watch for, and the signs accompanying Jesus' return, and most people are clueless. All biblically literate Christians need to look no further than toward Israel as I type this note.

We Christians are looking for our blessed hope, and the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ. It's sickening to see the modern "Christian" church ignore the exhortation through Jesus to John in Revelation 1:3 "Blessed is the one who reads aloud the words of this prophecy, and blessed are those who hear, and who keep what is written in it, for the time is near." I don't hear a "peep" from the pulpit about the last book in the bible. You'd think people would want to know how all things ultimately end! My research concludes that this "book" (Revelation) was written after AD 70. This book was written to the "churches" then, and by extension, to us.

BTW, not that it matters, but in my 67 years of life, and much of that studying God's word, the most detrimental doctrine regarding this error is founded in the notion of "Replacement" Theology.

Would you debate Don K. Preston?
It seems you have not studied the arguments for the preterist view or you ignore them or you don't like their explanations.

Persecution of Christianity is ongoing, just not so heavy handed in Western countries as of yet, but it's coming!! Whether pre trib or post trib think it would be better safe than sorry and have your house in order with THE TRUE LIVING GOD of HEAVEN!! Whether he comes through the clouds or you take your last precious breath, make sure your HOUSE IS IN ORDER WITH THE MOST HIGH GOD of HEAVEN!! Glory be to GOD and GOD ONLY!!

Agreed bro. My wife and I 100% agree with you on this topic. So many continue to believe that we will not see the Trib. I don't get it.
