I understood this very well but I'm a bit confused on the divergence example, what happens if the final vector is not a solenoidal vector, how do you proceed to find the dot product?

Please I want to ask you a quick question. Why did you say let U equals to all the (X² + Y² +Z²)^(-1/2)

And why did you say Y = U^(-1/2) under the gradient question 1.
