Pastor, this message truly touched my heart and I'll explain why.

I have been involved with someone who 'suffers' (my way to describe it although he completely disagrees and does not think he has a condition) from a mental condition/personality disorder. He constantly acts like other people who HE perceives as interesting, attractive, cool, etc. He has done this since I've known him for 14 years. The worst part is that he has abused and bullied me for who I am and where I come from, but would then go around to the same people he is trying to impress and start to copy and repeat everything i would say, do, be, etc. Only to repeat the process. It has been so difficult.

The hardest part is trying to explain it to someone else who has not dealt with it first hand because they don't understand. And honestly it sounds freaking nuts, but I promise, every word is true. You cannot hide from your experiences in your life because the pain demands to be felt. The pain is very real.

I have spent years of my life trying to help him understand, but he does not listen. It took him almost 14 years to even seek help. But he is doing it for the wrong reasons. He finds it hard to talk to people without having a mask on--so he is seeking help for medication so that he will have the ability to communicate and hang out with others. He is not doing it to help himself. It's so heartbreaking.

What advice can you provide for this?
