During cataclysmic events, many meters of soil can be deposited on a site in minutes.
It's not the depth of the soil that matters, it's the orientation that tells the story.
While it makes complete sense that the older sites are under deeper soil, it is a logical mistake to assume that soil accumulates at a fixed, steady, uniform rate.

The Gate of the Moon is built to look through it towards north. It's to the left of Kalasasaya and gate of the sun.
Reminds me of the Pyramid of the Moon in Teotihuacán in correlation to the pyramid of the sun.
Moon being a misnomer. They were aligned to Saturn fixed in the sky above the North pole.
The Sun gate and pyramid built later on pointing to the sun.(which wasn't seen in the sky before)



Turns out there was a reason why they aligned and pointed their buildings towards a fixed(but moving) position at the north pole.

Well the thing of that paper which states that for 1000 thousand year old ground the Soil Production Rate would be arround 10⁻⁵ m yr⁻1 seems interesting. 1 meter of dirt covering Kalasasaya pillars would mean 100.000 years, UNLESS THERE HAS BEEN A QUICK DEPOSITION OF MUD such as in a FLOOD!
(I know Bolivian Altiplano is 4000 meters high and so on....)
