This video doesn't tell you how to boost your connection to your ISP. It advises you on how to get a faster and more reliable connection between your end device and your Wi-Fi router. That just happens to affect the internet performance you get when using a wireless device. CNET is does not give scam advice. They've had articles with these tips for a long time and following them works if you initially get a bad signal from your wireless router. BTW, signal strength isn't the only factor. Even with full bars you can have poor performance due to cross traffic or other interference. If you watch and listen, even that issue is addressed in this video. CNET has been a go to site for tech tips almost since the beginning of the public internet (or in case I'm incorrect, sometime in the mid or late 1990s). They even had a printed magazine for years, don't know if they're still publishing. Enjoy.

My Wi-Fi router is a 4th generation 2TB Apple Time Capsule and it not only works amazingly but also is a backup drive for my iMac!

(I have Time Warner Cable with a 50mb/s connection)

I just bought a Netgear n900, this one does not have beamforce or an antenna, but I am upgrading from a D-link router. Which router do you recommend under $150? I'm not concerned too much about range as long as it has decent connection.
