Not only is your servant healed but 2000 years from now people will marvel at your faith and honesty.

I think there was more to this Centurion in how he refused Jesus' offer to come to his house, because he was aware of the Jewish customs about entering the houses of Gentiles and how taboo it was for them. By politely asking Jesus not to come to his house, he was attempting to prevent any embarrassment or allow Jesus' reputation to be criticized further. Granted, Jesus would've felt no embarrassment, but the Centurion didn't know that. He was simply trying to present a very humble and respectful attitude, and that in itself is a marvelous display, to say nothing of his great faith that if Jesus simply said that his servant was cured, he would believe it was done.

Little did the centurion know his leading statement would be part of the high church liturgy before receiving the sacrament of Holy Communion at the alter. Lord I am not worthy thou should come under my roof while the celebrant speaks holding chalice and proper response by the laity but speak the word only and my soul shall be healed.

The centurion basically asked Jesus to do something that had never been done before. The lesson is, whatever you need, don't think that it's impossible or that you don't deserve it, because Jesus can do anything and He wants to do anything to help us.

The Centurions faith was simply amazing. I cry every time I watch this clip. It is so moving. " I am unworthy that you will come under my roof " " I know that if you just say the word my servant will be healed. "

This scene makes me feel like I have to have more faith in all aspects of my life. I feel like I'm not worthy a lot of times of the Lord. But Jesus always looks out for me always. May he be praised.

I like how at 1:13 the centurion frowns for a bit thinking that Jesus was gonna mock him but after he heard him comment that Israel’s people had no such faith as his, his eyes lit up immediately lol

This is one of the most profoundly powerful scenes of film I’ve ever experienced.
Incredible!
And
Wonderful!

What I love most about this scene is when He says “Your faith has cured your servant”

Despite Him knowing he was the one who literally cured the servant, he still let the centurion believe it was him who did it.

Really shows how much you can accomplish with just a little bit of faith

Amazed how tall Ernest Borgnine looked in pictures. I met him in person, and he is about my height, 5'8". Great actor.

As a kid, I used to hate the Romans for their role in Jesus' crucifixion. But I then I realized that there were good Romans too among the higher ranks. Spiritually, I then realized that I wouldn't be saved if Christ didn't die on the cross.

We, too, need to believe, yet we've not seen. What faith did this man have? Gives me chills. Makes the hair stand up on my head. And I don't have hair. Lol
