Our precious Jesus is so wise, so compassionate, so powerful, so glorious - no wonder the world struggles with seeing Him clearly… He is like nothing and no one we have ever seen!!! I love the irony of this scene. The rabbi is preaching about not meeting with these sinful nations because they did not meet their needs on the way. But here we see the same teacher teaching from the Word of God is doing the exact thing that the Bible is condemning these nations for. Not meeting the needs of God's people.

But the true Word, Jesus, fulfills the Law and heals His people

The Pharisees say, "His affliction does not threaten his life." But they're missing the point. His affliction is a metaphor for sin and disfunction, which does threaten his life. Christ is there to heal physically, to be sure, but even more importantly He heals spiritually.
