You know….. if they ever fully created a movie telling their backstory, I would be all in! The beginning was literally a snipet of something that could’ve told a great story. Them being born, meeting each other for the first time and their adventures and mischiefs. We need to see this story of Whinnie and Billy Butcherson; when they met, their first kiss, when he started laying eyes on Sarah. Hell id even love to see how she managed to lure, poison, then sew his mouth shut 😂😂😂

Also she's wearing the color red, a color that got one of the first people in the witch trials to be hung. She wore a red bonnet and worked at a tavern. She was considered a bit too rough for a woman (she literally dealt with drunk people, what the fuck did they think?) and people believed a color that "exotic" and eye catching while being surrounded by drunk men meant she was a witch somehow. I believe her name was Bridget, but I can't fully remember.

So the first witch they meet in the woods wearing red and acting aggressive is a great accidental homage to that real woman.

This retroactively explains why they thought Dani was also a witch when they came back.

They thought she was this witch who had also gotten younger.

I noticed the outfit but I saw it more than just a call back to Dani in the first film. Instead, the way I saw it was that Dani was dressed as Mother Witch aka Hecate for Halloween that year.

I don't know if anybody realized but the witch mother was following Becca and them in her crow form

No, she was not, In the words of the people in charge, the similarity was merely circumstantial and they did not realize about it at the time, however and considering that they are talking about a third part, they will maybe take advantage of this and make the connection, since at first they wanted to have Dani in the sequel but the actress could not be there because of working schedule, and, in addition, the witch mother is still alive at the end of the film

I think everyone knows the scene where Mayor Traske asks that guy to save his spot in line for the caramel apples. Well, later, that guy can be seen eating a caramel apple with his wife, and they’re dressed up as the devil and Medusa lady from the original hocks pocus.
