THANK YOU for taking the time to produce this (thanks! to your wiffy fir her patience with the stinky carb in the house : ))

I just got a 2006 XT225 and the carb had a broken choke nut, the air cutoff valve plastic body was cracked, and the air cutoff valve diaphragm was installed about 20 degrees off (not seated within the cavity to the side).

GREAT VID

These carbs are quite different from the 1940’s - 1960’s American carbs that I’ve worked on for years.

Thanks again

Thank you for your videos on the various aspects of the XT225. I just picked up a roached out 2004 model that hasn't been started in years and am starting the autopsy before trying to revive Frankenstein. Much of the rusted through gas tank has found it's way into the carb and I'm sure other places. I'm about to replace the jets and tank with a Clarke and your videos have proven most helpful to understand the nuances as compared to the old BMWs I'm used to reviving. Thank you again!

I think your XT videos are going to make you my hero for the upcoming venture into my new to me 2002 Yamaha XT225. Just picked up this garage queen with only 210 miles on it. Flushing gas and oil and riding it. Floats were stuck seafoam cleared the issue. I understand these were under powered due to the jetting from the factory and that you can get more power out of them. Looking forward to your video. WOW just finished the video. NICE JOB!

Thanks for all the great videos on the xt225. I just got the 05 myself getting ready to rebuild the carburetor and reline the tank.

Fantastic and easy to understand video. I wish I watched this video BEFORE I swapped out the jets on my xt225. I did not note the position of the factory jets, and when I installed new ones, I just hand tightened all of them. My bike idled fine, but puttered out fuel starved when I opened up the throttle. Now I know to go back and try different settings on the jets.

Thanks!

many thanks, mister, short video with tons of info regarding how diafragm carbs are working ... in fact, I have to tune the same carb on a ttr250 that works only with the chock puller out I will use this knowledge from your video, regards from Greece.

That's a fantastic vid and it's applicable to a wide range of carbies. Sure, they might all look different but the basic operating principles are the same. I've found it super helpful. Thanks for putting it up.

Just put my XT back together when I found your videos. Very nice-we must be kindred spirits. I have a ragwing, Luscombe, ride an XT225, and fly Boeings!
Your Luscombe is nearly my dream machine- ragwing with D windows and wing tanks. My '38 is in restoration last 4 years😟.
Maybe I'll see you at Sun N Fun

Ha I thought so, I was watching your dam updates and saw that you had a quick link to the ADV Rider site and I was wondering if you rode. Then I found this video. My wife has the 2006 XT 225 and last summer I had to spin the carb and clean out the jets from all the ethanol garbage. I have the 2006 KLX 250S dual sport. Nice to meet another fellow rider. I've really been enjoying your videos on the dam, but its nice to see that you are into other things as well. Take care and keep up the great videos. I'll have to do some more snooping around here and see what else you have. I'm up in Western Washington on the peninsula, and we have some of the best places to ride around here. dual sport bikes are the only way to go!

So does this carburetor have a vacuum line running from the petcock to the carburetor?

pretty clear. You might want to mention that you need to increase the amount of fuel flowing through the main jet at sea level, and the higher you go an elevation, such as to Denver Colorado, which is a mile high, you need to go leaner on your main jet. Because there’s more air in the air at sea level… The higher in elevation, you go, you sometimes have to jet while doing trail riding if you climb a couple thousand feet in elevation down to leaner jets. Formula One cars because there’s less air the higher you go, when they race in Mexico City, which is over a mile high in elevation, they lose over 100 hp.

Juan, your videos are awesome. You've either had some training or have a natural gift for editing. This video was very helpful in getting me to better understand what the carb does and how it works. I have this bike, which I bought neglected and not in a running state. It's a learning project. I'm pretty sure leaving fuel in it over several years gummed things up. From your other videos, it looks like you are incredibly busy, but I sure would love to see a carb break down and rebuilding video. Is this still an "in the works" project? Thanks again!

Thank you for the great illustration. I had no idea how or what a CV carb was until I looked into the DR200 and XT225/250. Thanks again! :) So it seems like the xt225 carbs are much better than the DR200 carbs that seem to be garbage?

Great video. When you look at the butterfly valve "disc" that the throttle cable attaches to, there is a hole in it that allows access to a screw in the carburetor body. Can you tell me what that screw does, if anything? Mine had the screw backed out so far that it was rubbing against that throttle disc?

Can you do a simple instructional video on how to remove the rear and front wheel on the XT225. Much appreciated in advance. Great Job on all your videos - extremely articulate and helpful.
