182 metres tall and decorated with 12,000 uniquely-crafted bronze panels, India’s 50-storey Statue Of Unity is a triumph of aesthetics and engineering. And get this – it’s made from melted-down old farm equipment.

Incredible how little publicity this has in the West. Bravo India, I hope you invest to keep it standing forever.

I never knew this existed until today. It is extraordinary. Dwarfs the statue of liberty. All credit to the architects and engineers. A must see if I get the opportunity.

It's amazing that it is not mainly constructed for the sake of some title/ just to break a record in guineas book of world records, etc. But because it is meaningful for its country

Its beyond amazing what mankind can do. From pens to airplanes, vibrators to gigantic statues, its astonishing. But why is it so damn difficult to drive correctly?

Joke-wise: If there ever was a Kaiju attack, The Statue of Unity would be our go-to to fend off the monster. Haha!

What amazing symbolism that it used discarded farm machinery and enlisted the help of many countries

Well as India is a developing country, in view of that a large sums of amount that was spent on this gigantic statue is a point of discussion. But everyone has to agree on that this is an engineering marvel.
Thank you so much for making this video. We will love if you can make more India centric videos.

I'm a little obsessed with this statue; it's unbelievably huge, but it looks just like the person. He could be waiting for a taxi.

Had an opportunity to visit it recently. Great piece of engineering marvel and execution. India should be really proud of this achievement.

I think it a great project and will go and see it. But yes the money could of been spent on helping poverty, however a tourist site like this will help bring in more revenue for the Indian government, India is getting better as time goes on. Thanks for sharing this.

For those who are saying, that money should be used for poor, but in india there is already free ration, subsidy on education and reservation for poor . Moreover india is a federal country, meaning each state in india is different and has state gov and budget, Gujarat is already doing well than other states, so it is not wrong for them to build such thing, it would be different if it was Kerela or up

What a magnificent monument to fine man. Was surprised hearing the Statue Of Unity has its comparatively short 100-year life expectancy. Still at a mere $4 million a year to delight & inspire thousands of visitors is a bargain. When a nice patina sets in, it will be even more awesome. Nice India.

This statue is amazing. Up close is the only way to truly gauge the size, especially of cuppa! Truly amazing

Remarkable. I think things like this are worth it for the inspiration they provide to the people and their children. It lets them know humanity can do great things when we work together.

Now New Zealand should actually build the statues from Fellowship of the Ring. 😁
