Why does Jinx NAIL BUNNY TO WALL? | 1min Analysis (ARCANE)

Why does Jinx crucify Vi’s bunny while she’s working on hextech? As widely accepted by academics and bunny experts, Vi’s bunny in Arcane represents characters suffering from and overcoming childhood weakness. Everyone from Jinx to Jayce to Silco to Viktor (but not Vi) confront their bunnies and experience this counter intuitive process of confusing, ugly, devastating growth. With Jinx, we often see Bunny accompanying scenes about growth and her need for it, but this scene in episode 5 stands out for the disturbing image of the bunny nailed to the wall of her work area. Upon closer inspection, this aggressive act perfectly fits how she feels about growth at this stage.

“You can’t just nail your bunnies to the wall” thanks I’m gonna be using that quote from now on and watch as people get confused

We just witnessed a baptism, and now there is a bunny crucified to the wall.

Interesting parallel :)

The RABBIT HOLE goes deeper than we imagined with this theory. Also Jinx thinks that 'out of sight, Out of mind' works with the past but it doesn't. The past can not be avoided, beaten into submission or ignored

Ah yes, my favorite kind of content: where the simplification of complex ideas is made to sound like child's play.

This scene comes soon after Jinx’s “baptism”, when Silco tells her to let Powder die. I think her nailing bunny to the wall is a way of her trying to do that, asserting control over the memory of both Powder and Vi — yet she can’t completely let go, she doesn’t throw bunny away or tear it to pieces, therefore “killing Powder”, she just tries to restrain it. The scene’s a triumphant moment for her, she thinks she’s moving forward, but the bunny hasn’t left and her inner turmoil soon resurfaces.

When you talk about Jinx I FEEL that passion the most, Schnee. It's clear to me that she's your favorite character like you said, and she is for me too. Can't wait for this video!

It reminds me of depictions of crucifixion. Crucifixion is a form of punishment and torture, could this possibly also symbolize Jinx punishing herself for not being strong enough? Its like she's punishing the weak little child part of her. Like what she *feels* everyone else does. Silco telling Jinx to take time feels like a punishment for being weak. Vi telling Powder she cant come save Vander feels like a punishment for being weak. Mylo consistently badgering her about not being strong enough. Jinx, is "crucifying" Powder/weakness as a punishment. Telling herself that Powder isn't good enough or strong, and disciplining her. Maybe bunny on the wall symbolizes the Powder in her, and how she feels like shes always in trouble for being weak.

Honestly, when I saw it, all I could think of was it being a reference to JTHM, but hey, this reading works amazingly! lol

Wanted to say thank you for all your work. I'm late to the party and just watched arcane the other weekend and have pretty much been rewatching it since. So your content is feeding my soul!!! tysm

Might it also double as a reference to Nailbunny from the JTHM comics? Johnny also heard voices, including Nailbunny's voice, who somewhat represented Nny's conscience?

Maybe she's a JTHM fan. . . Makes sense honestly.

It could be that one represents the comfort and stability the person bunnies are a reminder of provided. One bunny suffers for the tragedy she did at their hands, and the other watches over her like the old days. Two sides, one coin.

I think it reminds her of Violet and it is a symbol of Vi's weakness, because she had this story about that she couldn't own this bunny, she couldn't throw it away, she wasn't THAT good. It may be something that makes jinx feel this sister love once again.

Jinx nailing a bunny to the wall gives me serious JTHM vibes…

Reminds me of Nail Bunny from the Johnny the Homicidal Maniac comics. Could also be a reference to that :) Maybe it's also Riot trying to say "Jinx is nothing like Tiny Tina, " lol. She reminds me of her so much! Nothing wrong with that, of course.
