Crystal Palace are in transition. Many important figures at the club reached the end of their contracts this summer and waved goodbye to Selhurst Park, including manager Roy Hodgson.

So Crystal Palace reacted with a batch of fresh faces, and a fresh approach.

I've seen this one before, they end up getting relegated but their signings end up all over Europe playing for good clubs in a few years

While I like the idea of a rebuild, they're vulnerable this season. Lots of players with very few PL minutes and a manager who has never done anything to suggest he is of PL quality. If they can stabilise and continue to make good signings then it could pay off in the long run though.

Looks like the rebuild worked with 3 weeks left in the season, we’re safe from the drop. Gallagher was great on loan but the young players we’re keeping are the bigger stories. Guehi and Mitchell are now English International after there first year in Palace making our defense better then it has for years. For strikers, Olise looks to be one of the best youngsters in the game with the big 6 already wanting him badly and Matata permanent move seems to be a great cheap option to solidify the CF position. Only problem so far is midfield. Gallagher going back to Chelsea and nobody really there to replace him immediately. The two options to replace Gallagher are Eze who could be good but his injury caused him to have a lackluster season or Hughes but he’s still too young. Bringing in Lens midfielder Doucouré might be the next step in this “rebuild”

They've certainly got the means to be very exciting...Zaha, Olise and Eze (when fit) behind a central striker could be really fun to watch. My main concern (like many) could be Viera...I think his style will fit nicely in the long run, but a manager with a little more PL experience would be a better option for the initial transition. I'm thinking...Marco Silva, Andre Villas-Boas or Eddie Howe? The options aren't great...Lucien Favre would've been interesting but he turned them down.

Maybe they'll go down, to come up like Norwich have. I hope they don't get cold feet about changing style, however.
