I still feel a dev kit of the headset will come before the consumer release. Interested to know whether it’ll work with both iOS and macOS, which I would expect

Note that, in the press release, they said that "WWDC23 is going to be our biggest and most exciting yet". I don't know if it actually means anything, but it's pointing at the fact that we could get a major announcement there.

I think the under appreciated thing about the mixed reality glasses is that it's a whole new platform so it needs the developer community onboard to succeed at launch. This is why it will need to be teased/launched at WWDC so if it doesn't happen in WWDC this year it will have to go back into the bottle until the next WWDC

I'm just not sure what they can possibly do with a mixed reality headset unless it's launched with tons of applications that make full use of it. Without reinventing the wheel, they could really change habits if the software is amazing (iPhone, anyone?). But that's way harder for people to leak, so we'll see.

I think Mac Pro is likely as an announcement. Every “Pro” desktop Mac in recent memory has been announced at WWDC and released 3-6 months later. The cylinder Mac Pro (2013), iMac pro (2017), current Mac Pro (2019). It’s not like Apple will hurt sales of existing Mac Pro at this point. Also, I can’t see Apple releasing anything with an “M3” in 2023.

Would have preferred the 15” MBA for the larger screen but having just purchased the M2 MBA I can wait another 5-7 years for my next upgrade.

If the rumored price range (~$3k), it's going to be too expensive for mass adoption. Even if it's literally the *best* headset on the market, the price will hold it back. Facebook is consuming the low-end market with the Quest 2, and the midrange/gaming market has several good choices, including Valve's Index and the PSVR2. Apple pricing their headset in the $3k range will put it *far* above these others. I'm excited to see what they come up with, but I'll be more excited to see future revisions once the price comes down to something more affordable, and AR/VR can penetrate the market further.

One could argue the invitation loosely resembles a wireless or sound wave. Maybe something game changing with wireless or audio is coming? possibly that rumored Apple cellular chip? I know based on rumors the most plausible reference is the headset but just wanted to throw out some other possibilities.

It is AirPower. The color means the electromagnetic field and the half cone shapes mean wireless. The tagline "never seen" means the never released AirPower.

I'm waiting for an M2 Max Mac Studio,
I do hope they don't abandon the Mac Studio and leave a gaping hole between the Mac Mini and Mac Pro like it was for a long time before the first Mac Studio

They will push the ar/vr until the end of the year, and then we will get just a glimpse on it, the launch will be next year in mid February.
