NON WOOTING KEYBOARDS ARE A WASTE OF TIME

At some point I stopped using my wooting60he and went down the rapid trigger gaming keyboard rabbithole. These cheap hall effect keyboards are not BAD but simply not worth considering if you have a wooting. Some minor things, software is really buggy with razer, polar65 typing angle was weird, KB65he rapid trigger made me so much worse at fortnite

I dont know why I didn't plug in my wooting and come to this realization earlier.. sometimes in life you have to downgrade to appreciate what you had

That Wooting 80 He though. Cant wait, especially since the changes they made to it.

I'll preface this by saying I own two 60HEs. The limiting factor on most of these boards is firmware/software, and that can be easily fixed; they PCBs are all nearly identical, as is anything using a Gateron KS-20 based switch. They don't have the same limitation as optical boards.

Wooting has had a huge head start on developing the keyboard, but their manufacturing process still can't meet demand. The Chinese OEMs will get it down within a few revisions; we've already seen it in the custom keyboard space where they're pumping out sub-$100 boards that rival the sound and build quality of the $500 ones.

I've tried wooting and kb65he and calling the difference "night and day" is a bit much.
Sure wooting is superior but we are talking what, 10ms difference? Unless you're a top .01% player that difference in latency is completely irrelevant to gameplay.

This is why optimum tech has the more objective reviews when it comes to peripherals. He shows numbers and stats based on the results of rigorous testing, not just "it feels-" reviews.

I have been saying this.
The whole reason these keyboard exist is the idea of perfection, and so far the Wooting has been the only one to do it. I do hope the Lamzu Pro and Boog75 are close, as I would love to swap to the Boog75 because it is much like a custom keyboard with the benefits the Wooting.

I fr clicked on this thinking this was a rant against custom keyboards

I've been through a few different keyboards until I finally decided to go with the Wooting Two and I literally have not even considered another keyboard. It's just superior in every way to every keyboard I've had or tried

I understand all the wooting glazing and everything, but for fucks that fucking keyboard cost almost the third of my monthly salary when I factor in delivery and everything. So yeah I will stick to the cheaper alternatives.

Only honest issue with Wooting 60HE is I have to swap it out for a TKL for work; just need the 80HE or for Wooting just to wise up and give us Wooting TKL.

The reason I was thinking about the endgame is that Wooting only offers 60% but I need numbers, arrow keys and the extra buttons on the right for work

The Endgame, Polar, ATK and many others use the same OEM PCBA, firmware and software does differ though. The ATK68 has all Wooting’s features except for analog/gamepad remapping but I do not have a setup to test and compare its latency. You’re not the target consumer as you want the best of the best, not the best within a budget. What was quite shocking to me is that the build quality of the ATK68 (and from what I’ve seen the Endgame too) is much much better than the 60HE, a far better sound and switches as well. The switches are the KS-37B Dual Rail switches compared to the Lekkers’ Single Rail. They have tighter tolerances and because of their dual rails; less stem wobble. Yes, the 60HE is still better for €189, 99 but for €80 cheaper the ATK68 is almost there. I hope to see a thorough latency test of the ATK soon, maybe RTings will. 🤷‍♂️

I just installed the Gateron Jade switches (110pcs) last weekend in my otherwise stock Wooting Two HE. They´re lighter and have around 0.5mm less travel, but they sound way better thanks to the closed bottom and they come pre-lubed. They feel like they actuate faster at below 1mm travel, but that might just be the lighter springs that make it feel that way.

Yeah, after doing research, and quickly going through a couple of keyboards that really weren't that good, I found the Wooting Two HE, and that's the only keyboard (along with Wooting in general) I consider worth a premium price. If you want cheap, get a keyboard that's upwards of $20, but if you want the best, it's only 10x more price, which is quite reasonable for this absurd market, for a keyboard that will last until keyboards as a technology are obsolete. It's the only keyboard I care about at all.

Wooting has the best implementation, but for some people, it is not only those few ms that matter. I would argue that some stock Wooting copies such as the EGG one are much nicer and don't require as many mods as the Wooting. I spent 300 EUR on the Wooting to be like the EGG feel and look-wise. But the EGG only cost me 150EUR. So it all comes down to what you value more and what your budget is. At the end of the day, good non-HE keyboards are still perfect.

only reason I really got the steelseries apex pro was because it was on sale for 135 USD and its globally available, unlike the wooting which doesn't ship everywhere and you have to wait long times for batches/stock. the drunkdeer a75 is also really good at that price

moral of the story : if you want the best, just get a wooting.

I so wish there would be an ergo keyboard option (or keypad) with these switches. Or a wireless Wooting.

To be fair though, drunkdeer is over half the price.
