*UPDATE 1:* I've been testing Keychron's newest firmware for a few days now and didn't have a single input that didn't register. Seems like they've fixed the calibration issues. Good stuff.
I've also been talking to Akko and they are working very hard on fixing the polling rate issues. They've been responding very well to the feedback and should have a firmware update ready very soon.

Really well done with the comparison. Didn't know there were so many differences with the implementation of "Rapid Trigger".

i thought optimum was the only one who actually did in dept reviews of keyboards and their stats but then i stumbled on your channel randomly and i'm so glad i clicked, thank you for all this information. i was looking for a new HE keyboard

Honestly it'd be really cool to see you go out and test loads of HE keyboards, it'd be incredibly valuable for comparing HE boards. It'd also be interesting if you could test the deadzones of these switches and not just latency/polling rate, I think that's a huge factor in these keyboards too

I have the Wooting Two Lekker Edition which was the first Wooting with hall effect keys but in a full-size layout. And I gotta say that I love it. That one was a time limited model. But they still have the Wooting Two HE if you need arrow keys. That of course means you get the numeric keypad too which to me is only a plus... I use a high sensitivity fast moving mouse so I only have a travel distance of around 3-5 cm to move from one side of a screen to the other in windows. So the space the keyboard takes up is a non-issue for me.

Congrats on one of the best vids on the topic! All you missed was SOCD and a more thorough discussion on how all hall effect switches *must* be calibrated.

Finally, a gaming review AND comparison of Magnetic HE keyboards instead of the usual "thock or clack" sound test reviews.

just to let you know the Endgame Gear Keyboard has software updates that can be found in their discord that changes the functionality of the rapid trigger and adds new features,
nonetheless, great video

Nice vid mate . Pretty impressive how well Wooting tuned their onboard & offboard software so well the first time around that everyone is still trying to catch up for the most part

really useful information. no one has ever talked about such details. I really hope you will have more HE keyboards on the reviews.

For the Akko Keyboard (at least under the assumption and the fact that it is very similar to the Gamakay drivers):
You just need to turn of the non-stop rapid trigger setting and set the keypress up slider to a high value (4mm) to get a normal rapid-trigger performance.

Hi, great video ! I have a question if you don't mind me asking, what do you think of the ATK keyboard and mouse brand?

3:57 worth mentioning here that the keychron has "only" 1k polling rate, indicating that polling rate means little for latency above 1k

Amazing video. Thank you. Please do more of these. I'm in search for an HE wireless keyboard, and wooting refuses to make one.. And the rest you just don't know what you'll get, other "reviewers" don't even bother checking the polling rate...

The Akko has so much potential, I love the hardware. If they would only fix their software they would be top tier

Excellent review! So much more in depth in comparing the user experience with their software and hall effect switch experience.
This review gives so much more value than so many of the hall effect keeb videos out on youtube that just shill "this is the BEST keyboard, buy it now!!!!"

Not sure about the other keyboards, but for the Akko, it’s definitely worth mentioning that on the switches they use, the magnetic poles are reversed. Meaning that your choices for after market switches are very slim. You also cannot simply spring swap them, since they use a short and fat spring. I have spent quite a bit of money and time trying to get other switches to work before Akko support told me. 60g stock is way too heavy for me, and a bought an Akko since I wanted a true tkl layout, rather than the 80he. But kinda frustrating having to look all over the place for lighter switches. But china has me covered I guess.
