HIGH SPEED SYNC EXPLAINED - Start taking dramatic portraits anywhere!

How do you get shallow depth of field in broad daylight without overexposing your image? Using high speed-sync gives you the power as a photographer to create that shallow depth of field look while still maintaining an evenly exposed image.

I took my lovely model Haley out to Tempe Town Lake, just north of the Arizona State University campus to use my high speed-sync in the field.

I use this lighting technology a lot in my work

Seriously GREAT shit, per usual. And the even more amazing thing about Joel: he's color blind.

You know what... Joe's skill is seeing beauty in that cityscape - at first look I would have probably gone meh... but it's is the photographers vision that takes the water, the ripples, the model, and bridges and puts it all together - thanks for opening my eyes to opportunity

Great pics, but you didn't explain anything about HSS. You just complimented your model & your surroundings.

Another great one! The three important things to have...great subject, awesome background, and good lighting is pretty easy to remember. Thanks!

I love the results you achieved especially that last one. Almost looks like it was shot in a studio with a backdrop. I'm inspired.

Amazing stuff. Joel, I just learned about you last week. I bought one of your products. I was immediately impressed with not only your prowess but your ability to simplify and share your knowledge in an approachable manner. I can say that all my investments in learning the craft of photography will be done through you. Time to start saving up for your courses. Thanks for this video.

I'm pretty sure I saw you one time at Tempe Camera. Huge fan of the work you did on Navajo Nation. Great video!
