Understanding how to use High-Speed Sync Flash Photography can be confusing. Why use high-speed sync for portraits anyway? Here is, for me, why and how to use high-speed sync in portrait photography. HSS photography doesn't have to be a mystery, to me I have a very cut and dry reason I choose to use it. This is NOT about HSS vs ND filters, maybe we'll talk about ND filters in another video. In this video, learn flash photography in this high-speed sync tutorial about easy flash photography.

Here's an EASY guide on High-Speed Sync EXPLAINED. A Flash Photography video for you.

Hope you enJoy!

Came to know your Chanel by chance and your videos are simple and easy to understand and not with the usual hifi stuff which is difficult for a novice to understand. Thank you !!

Thank you for explaining this. I've been struggling with this issue for awhile and didn't know the reason why my pictures were over exposed. Thanks.

Canon 135mm f2 is an underrated lens, it’s one of my favorite and most used lens for portraits, great job as always Vanessa.

Great explanation of HSS and some beautiful portraits with nice soft backgrounds. I was surprised to see the flash modifier pointing straight ahead. When it's elevated to such a height (above the model's head) I thought it would be angled downwards normally - like about 45 degrees.

Excellent video! I do have a question as to where you begin with HSS. Is it trial and error that you arrived at 1600 shutter speed? Thank you!

Amazing video. Could you cheat and use HSS on your trigger WITHOUT having a flash? As a way to avoid using ND filters

Excellent video as always. Question: with the Shutter Speed that high, wouldn’t it kill the ambient light...ie the hair light which was so pronounced at the beginning? Thanks.

I'm trying to shoot HSS with my canon R5 and my profoto B10 but whenever I try, it returns to 1/200th. Any tips please on what I'm doing wrong? Thank you so much! 🙏🏼

Hi, I've been thinking about adding an ND8 to solve the exposure problem, but I'm worried about the color bias
