Hi to all...about permits. As is mentioned in the thread, it varies. We just did a thing in NYC on official property, and there were literally hundreds of emails involved, permits, applications, insurance and the like. This was guerrilla filmmaking all the way. Went to the park, used a paint pole with a Kacey Pole Adapter screwed onto it, and popped the raw light atop that. Very mobile, very under the radar.

This was excellent. The best explanation is a solid demonstration.

You can also achieve the same effect-using your normal sync shutter speed and a - ND1.2 - 4/f Stop Neutral Density Filter if you set your flash exposure to F/5.6 you would then set your aperture to F/1.4 when using a - 4/f Stop Neutral Density Filter. This gives you exactly the same exposure but significantly less depth of field.?

@ Joe McNally, doesn't the "stroboscopic" effect of HSS lower your total power by 1/4 or 1/8?

You need to put your flash to full power in order to shoot above 1/250 fps that way you still get a good blur background.

Hi, can you please tell me what brand monopod are you using as I own Profoto B1 and finding it difficult for a monopod to take weight ....yes I can use tripod but on a move a monopd is better option...

Hi, good evening. Haven't you found 1/4000 a constraint in order to do high speed sync on 5he d750?

At 2:08. What was the ISO On? Seems like you're pushing ISO 100. If so, could the dark side of the face come out more at ISO 400-800 with the shutter still at 1/8000?
