Mental health does not excuse bad behavior. Told to me by a therapist years ago.

Years ago in Ohio, I was on a jury for a criminal trial. We got to submit questions. First the judge reviewed them for legality. Then the attorneys reviewed them. If neither side objected, the juror question was posed to the witness. One of my questions were used. I think it made me pay even closer attention.

When I served on a jury, we were allowed to submit questions to the court after each witness testified. The lawyers and judge would review the questions in side bar, and then the judge would ask those questions that they all deemed appropriate.

I've never seen a trial where the jury is allowed to ask questions. I think it's great idea & more trials should do this!!

I’ve never seen a trial that jurors were allowed to ask questions. I think that’s great because they can’t discuss anything with their fellow jurors, and for whatever reason, it’s important to them. Thanks Peter. Always enjoy your breakdown of everything law!

I watched the autopsy portion and I am beyond words... that little boy went through some horrific attacks. I pray for his family and everyone who saw those photos 😢

I used to do psych assessments in the ER for the on call psychiatrist. Some cops were interested and asked us about psych questions and did some learning. Others, not so much…

Watched parts of trial today, LS blew her insanity defense with TV interviews !

Her “cover-up” videos proof she knew right from wrong. She tried to hide what she had done.

I really like how speedy this Judge handles this Trial. Nice to see witnesses right after each other instead of breaks & stretches, etc. that other Judges tend to do!!

Having to catch these updates on replay because I'm actually watching the trial on Grizzly True Crime. Gisela is doing an incredibly respectful job of streaming this trial and if anyone is interested, I'd highly recommend her channel!
Thank you, Peter, for the synopsis and analysis!💜

She is guilty and did all the lying and hiding of the body proves she was sane enough to plot do the heinous act and hide and clean up the scene

I ain't seen pictures, but I've heard testimony and yes I feel she knew exactly what she was doing, she wouldn't had hid his little 11yr old body if she didn't know that it was wrong.

Peter ur right about not needing to see some stuff, I wont watch this trial live because I dont want to see pics or hear concrete details, its just too traumatizing, but I like to know whats happening in court so I love these videos. I have a question about guilty by reason of insanity, how does that work when its time for the jury to decide? If they think she's guilty but not insane do they come back with guilty and then she's considered insane and gets a lighter sentence, do they say no because we dont think she's insane and then she gets off with it, or is there a stipulation or basically deciding on 2 things where they can come back with a verdict guilty but not insane and she gets a regular sentence as anyone else would?

Disassociative Identity Disorder is an extremely complex disorder. Many people disassociate on a daily basis as a way of dealing with stress and/or boredom.
Extreme cases are typically due to early childhood trauma, torture, sexual abuse.
Creating a different identity enables the victim to separate self from the traumatic event.

I think its great to let the jury ask questions. I sat on a jury once (called up several times, served once) here in NC but we were not allowed to submit our own questions. I had several things I would have liked to ask.
