I wept like a baby the first time I saw this, and still just stream tears every time this clip pops up.

I loved Robert Carlyle's turn as John Lennon, simply living his best life. I'd watch an entire movie where he's an alternative version of Lennon.

The peace and wisdom that this alternate version of John Lennon has found while keeping his poetic talent is just outstanding. This "sailed the world" pinches my heart every time I hear it. I also like how he invites this stranger into his home who just shows up at his door step and who must appear a total nut case to him. He sits down with him without any prejudice, has a talk, takes interest in his life, and then they part. It's really beautiful.

One of the SADDEST but satisfying scenes in the history of cinema...I'll never forget watching MNF with my Dad and hearing the news. I was 16. I wrote a note to my older sister who had earlier gone to bed. One of the SADDEST moments of my life. I always "imagine" the songs we all missed, the quotes, the activism. Peace.

Miss John (and George). Nice touch in this movie, to see what John may have been like if he’d still be with us ❤

I really like the idea that John didn't question why he was there or asked him who he was. He saw that Jack needed someone to talk to, so he did.

We all grew up listening, seeing these songwriters/ musicians and they are a part of us, the fabric of who we are. They influenced us, made us self aware of the wrongs and rights of the world as a teacher would...a good teacher. They had their opinions, they had their
ideology, yet, whether or not we agreed, there was something special in them that made us, maybe, a bit more humane?!??
It is a time that had come and is now gone, but those who listened and remember, have a part of them, as they have a part of us.

Recently discovered a part of my family that makes me love the Beatles all over again. I never saw this movie. I want to see it now.

That John Lennon scene broke my heart. I hope that when he said "Found the woman I loved, and fought hard to keep her", he was referring to Cynthia.

Went to this location when i visited Suffolk, with my cousins, who had not watched the movie. We went home and watched it then. And we were there, yesterday.. They live in Suffolk and enjoyed the movie very much.

I saw this movie years ago, loved it, but I just found out it was Robert playing John about 5 minutes ago. He's clearly one of the best ever.
