They are reselling security as a subscription! It's a scam! They want $15.99 a month to protect your account. Which should be done regardless.

Over a week later customers are still trying to get Optus to specifically identify which of their personal details and documents have been compromised. Bring on the class action lawsuit! Optus have not been forthcoming with customers or cooperative with the government about their mistake. How can I secure my identity if I won't be told, despite explicitly asking repeatedly, which details have been exposed.

Optus’s former Chief Information Security Officer for the past 4 years, and resigned a month ago, has done a fantastic job in securing Optus’s systems.

I've been waiting for a call back from optus for 7 days. All I want is confirmation of what data of mine they hold. No-one so far can answer my question

It is because of federal police that my identity has been stolen with Optus data breach due to the fact as an old customer federal police is asking network companies to keep old customer data for 2 years!!!!

I only got messaged today my details were stolen. I've been with Optus all my life but today they lost a customer. Also rms nsw won't help you change your license number unless you file a police report and even then it will take weeks to change.

I'm australian and this is very bad for me, I also use Optus net, I still don't know if I was affected, but no scam phone calls, emails yet, but I'm extremely worried about this.

It's a very bad design by Optus. I have a feeling it's due to the Telcos hiring contractors and do a substandard work.

Using API is not an issue but securing data at the back is.
How can an open and unsecured API was able to return personal data is beyond belief!

Resignation are meant for these disasters.

You'll find that the target demographic involved employees of the state with a networking relationship in the Professions.

The target group is not as much concerned about theft of money. Instead, they're worried about the public nuisance value this threat poses. Knowing the pitfalls of this issue most would rather pay extortionists than accept having to change all their documentation.

Conversely, People can use info to screw you around as it takes their fancy. They don't need a pecuniary interest. There are people who have mistreated others and realise that they are likely to be subject to financial interference and DDOS that will render their daily lives useless;)

all optus customers request your information stored such as names, address, and lic# ect to all be false info for the next time it happens due to their incompetence, if they dont just swap providers, i mean its nbot like the service is actually good anyway, the net is one of if not the worse in australia
