Never judge a book by its cover! Beauty is on the inside! All that glitters is not gold! There are lots of sayings warning us that what's on the inside may be different to what we expect from the outside and even though we know this, you still can't help being surprised a some of the Strangest Things Hidden in Everyday Things!?

1. Long lighter
These lighters are incredibly handy for, well, not burning your hands. but if you open one up you can't help but feel cheated when you discover a normal lighter inside!

2. Bocce ball
Bocce is an Italian game similar to Boules. While the more expensive balls are solid if you cut open a cheaper bocce ball you will find it contains old pools balls and a foam core.

3. Dog toy
The company that made this dog toy definitely has a sense of humor. after the dog ripped this cheeky cactus toy open the owner found that it contained another cactus toy that didn't seem quite so pleased!

4. 9-volt battery
Not many things use these batteries anymore, so when you need one, it's always hard to get your hands on one. this makes it especially annoying to know that on the inside of a 9-volt battery are 6 AAA batteries.

5. Human Remains
Ok so this doesn't happen with every tree, but in 2017 a tree was blown down in a storm in Ireland, a passerby noticed something odd and called the authorities. They found a skeleton of a medieval man inside the base and roots of the tree. It is presumed the man died in battle and that the tree grew around him!

6. Quality Table
In this consumer day and age, we all know that quality is now not as important as quantity, but still, when you buy a table you expect it to be wood. so imagine the shock of this guy, when upon peeling back the veneer, he found cardboard! Imagine that! you spill your tea and your table collapses!

7. Stalemate
We're all pro-recycling nowadays. and when it comes to plastic, even more so, but you kind of expect them to melt the plastic down before reusing it. that wasn't the case for this chess piece, which broke open to reveal old dice inside it!

8. Matryoshka dice
On the subject of dice, this blue one was found to contain a white one inside. and a red one under that, followed by a green, yellow, pink, purple and......just kidding!

9. Garden frog
When it comes to the gruesome world of ceramic lawn ornaments, we thought things couldn't get any more terrifying, until we saw this broken ceramic frog which appears to have consumed the souls of two ceramic snowmen!

10. Sneaky deodorant
After forking out for expensive shoe deodorant thinking that it's a specialized product, you can't help but feel cheated to discover that it's just an unpopular antiperspirant that they've rebranded!
