I've been unemployed longer than I care to post here. I am not looking for my next "career move". I just want something that pays the bills. That is literally all I want and I cannot even get that.

Those who live in small communities and can't do jobs like these app ones ask local businesses if they need someone to work a day or 2 out of the week. Local businesses tend to hire people especially if you explain that it is to have a side hustle. This is only my experience from small towns I lived in but it usually pans out well.

Additionally, per my wife who is a former HR manager, candidates that are employed are far more desirable than those that aren't. It's definitely not fair, but just having nearly a job can lead you to a job you actually want.

Yes! I don’t know if I’ve ever gotten job I cared about through a standard application process—it was always because I got to know someone who knew someone or I was in the right place at the right time. But sometimes it WAS a grunt work whatever job that got me there—for sure! Nothing is wasted!

Tutoring is the best. Honestly, you only need to tutor like one person and then you have a reference. You can list everything you offer to tutor, not just what you actually tutor.
