I dated a British man from London, he always uses the word :explain . but never said :could you please .. very arrogant. Later when I wanted him to explain sth, I did the same way : explain…
Then he said :are you my boss ??? He forgot the way he said to me, what a shame . 😂 But I can beat him, so no worries 😢😮🎉

I hate to say so, but Sheffield is a world away from London! You can't possibly generalise about what people expect of you. Londoners are definitely more standoffish (or were when I was last there), and even if you're standing tightly packed in a lift or public transport, there's likely to be complete silence! Other towns are far more relaxed, and even complete strangers may exchange a word or two. Northerners are known for their welcoming attitude, and will probably accept you more readily into their community. And everyone moans about politics. Yes, they're nearly all Labour voters 'up north', but there is more diversity in London. I find the French far more reserved about their political views, only discussing them with known sympathisers, and absolutely never having a sticker on their window saying 'vote labour'!

BINGO!!! So it is true, that the British talk shit to each other, as a way of bonding (please correct me if I’m wrong). And here I am, an American, with a British sense if humor (& personality), and I practically have to hide my true personality because everyone is offended by it😫😫.

Do not jump a queue, its a custom of wait your turn. Its highly offensive to not wait your turn and instantly pisses people off who have waited patiently.
Mind your Ps and Q's - Always say thank you, please, its basic but matters alot.
It's one thing for us to self depricate. it's entirely another to come here and bemoan us, if you dont like it, leave, if your dumb enough to stay then thats on you.
Dont force your religious beliefs on others. Its fine to have them just keep it to yourself. Same goes for your political beliefs and also your sexual preference. No one cares.
We will mercilessly tease you if we think you can take a joke, but that is a form of endearment, if were not lightly teasing you, we secretly hate you.
Drinking tea is our favourite past time activity. But its at risk from those dirty coffee drinkers spreading their coffee breathe everywhere aided and abbetted by starbucks and Costa Coffee, theres a reason coffee comes in many different forms (latte esspresso etc) because they tried to make it taste better but had to add thing to make it palletteable.
