I appreciate you showcasing Vietnamese culture through video 🙌. Much of the tradition isn't passed down in America and your interviews have been very helpful in understanding our beautiful culture.

Slow travel in Vietnam would be my dream come true. I’ll study the language and culture before I travel there and try my best to fitting in. I love the simple life and living with respect for others and local cultures.

40% is likely, but only for knowing a few English responses and phrases. Realistically, I would say less than 10% can speak English fluently. That's including service industries.

An important tip for travelers is to organize their VND (monies) according to the respective denominations. There are a few bills that looks very similar except one is $200K VND and the other is $20K! Even in the day they look similar let alone at night. However, I'm grateful to say that, for the most part, vendors are honest and will give you correct change. Pls visit VN!

Hi Skye, just got back from Vietnam yesterday. I had a great time, luckily I had a Vietmamese friend show me around. I did meet one scammer, but he was from New York, lol. I'm so lucky to have found your videos, they helped me so much. Thanks

Thank you for this excellent teaching. In January 2025 I will be returning to Vietnam for the fourth time since I was a soldier there during the American war. I absolutely love your country. I love how friendly and kindhearted your people are. I love how safe your country is compared to America. And I very much enjoy my interaction with Vietnamese people.I've learned a lot by listening to you. I speak a little bit of your language and strongly desire to learn more.

I think I recognize you. Do you have another channel or did you make videos a few years ago about living in Chiang Mai Thailand?

It's funny how we have the exact same superstition about umbrellas in Portugal.

You beautuful women speak English as a second language better than I do it as a first language. Great video. Thank you.

Some good information here, but for anyone going to Vietnam, do NOT expect 40% of the population to speak English like that girl said. That’s not accurate at all, not even close. And the umbrella thing is not a Vietnamese thing lol. But one thing everyone should do is take their shoes off. It’s normal to most westerners to wear shoes in the house but it’s nasty if you actually think about it.
