Sleep deprivation is silent killer, at first it doesn't effect so much but at the end it can be fatal. Thanks for putting light on this point. Great video coach

Agreed, sleep is so under discussed though I think more people are sorting to focus on it.

I struggle with sleep and know when I am running on low sleep my performance in the gym and work greatly decreaseZ

Sleep is so important do not ignore it. I am 15 and when in the holidays I smash my self in the gym and on the mat(wrestling) and then I would get 8-9 hours of sleep I would wake up and feel like a powerhouse. I would feel that all the soreness from the day before would almost completely vanish and I felt like I was already stronger than the day before.

Gains are made by 3 things : good workout, good nutrition and good recovery.

Sleep is also a main factor in manteing o losing testosterone.
It's proved that good quality 7/9h from 9/10 pm to 5/6 am could even raise it.

Coach, do you find a higher incidence of apnea amongst your athletes? And/or in your experience with people just making gains through a lifting regimen? Thanks!

My Dietician has to always ask me about my sleep before any other habits. Low sleep means more caffeine and cravings day to day. I notice that I want garbage for breakfast when I don’t sleep.

I just finished playing Fresh Start Worlds OSRS Runescape and was fighting for top 25 in the world for 2 weeks, I went to sleeping only 4hours a day for 2 weeks and my lifts got so punished, I couldnt even hit %70 of my max snatch. Made me realise how important sleep is to performing optimal.

Nothing gaves me more energy then my 8 hours of sleep
I could have 7 hours of sleep and a cup of coffee before a morning gym workout but would have lower performance then with 8 hours

I don't think I've been able to get more than 6 or 7 hours of sleep without pills for the past few weeks

Purely cause I've just not felt like sleeping and because I really wanted to try to wake up early to fit in some studying and working out cause I don't like working out in the dark (after ~5pm) cause there's actually a risk of encountering bears or wildlife here

I've been trying to go to sleep earlier and stuff and it's been one hell of a challenge haha

I am currently dealing with a distal bicep tendonitis that’s routing from a shoulder impingement but I’m having a very hard time finding exercises that I can do confidently without feeling like I’ll injure myself, I feel as if I injure/tear my tendon an it’s almost scaring me from working out my shoulder or bicep in general an I feel like I’m getting set back more an more, but I was inquiring if you would know any stability or mobility exercises to help get back on track.

Do you or your athletes take any supplements or sleep aid to aid in better quality and quantity of sleep? Any affordable recommendations?
