Fever in Children: Causes, Treatment & Home Remedies - Max Hospital

In this video, Dr Anupama Gupta, Principal Consultant at Max Hospital Panchsheel Park explains what is a common fever in children and what are its causes, treatment & home remedies. According to Dr Anupama, the leading causes of fever could be anything from flu, diarrhoea, typhoid and dengue. Whenever the fever occurs, it is essential to control the temperature, and if the temperature is higher than 102 degrees, then it is important to do lukewarm water sponging. Dr Anupama states that paracetamol is the safest medicine for children; however, the dose of this medicine varies according to the weight of the child. It is important to note that if the fever lasts more than 48 hours and is accompanied by a cough, cold, loose motions, then it is better to take doctor's advice.
