Girl I’ve learned so much with you. My doctor literally hates me bc i question everything. I don’t trust regular doctors at all. This corona messed up my at home birth plan.

Yes! This is so helpful. With my first baby I had pregnancy anemia and also hemorrhaged at the birth center after delivery. He was 9lb 7oz and precipitous labor 4rs. Almost needed a transfer to hospital but they got the bleeding under control before needing a transfusion. I was incredibly drained and depleted for days postpartum.

My midwife told me to eat beef liver since it’s highest in iron over any other food. I looked up a good recipe and within 24 hrs of eating it I felt like a whole new person. WHAT A DIFFERENCE! Now any time during pregnancy or postpartum that I feel tired or depleted, that beef liver is my go-to. Since then, on my following 2 pregnancies, my iron has always tested in the optimal range.

Kira, I LOVE your videos. I'm so thankful YT suggested one of your videos months and months and months ago. I think I've watched every video. You bring so much heart and value to every video.

I’ve been taking iron for the last three years. My iron was always low my whole life, but during my late 20’s and early 30’s my periods started getting longer and heavier. And that’s when i noticed my iron was so low that around my period at random times when i would stand up i would have to hold on ro something bc i felt like Id pass out. My periods are so Heavy to the point where on the heavy days I have to change my menstrual cup 4-6x a day and wear a pad at night or otherwise wake up to a mess. So two years ago after advocating for myself i got a d&c surgery and was diagnosed with adenmyosis. My primary doctor said bc the reason my iron was so low is probably bc of the adenmyosis. Since I’ve been taking iron I’ve noticed a vast difference. However now I’m 31 weeks pregnant and and I’ve been taking my iron the whole pregnancy and i feel fine but I’m
Going to ask my midwife for the cbc test.

I did this test at 28 weeks, I'm 31 weeks right now.
My Red Blood Cell was which is slightly low.
My doctor told me it's nothing to worry about, and that my blood work is great.

I am now eating more meat, and organ meats. It doesn't hurt to increase the iron if the test showed its low.
I'm not sure if they'll do the test at 36 weeks, , ...but, I will definitely bring it up to make sure my numbers look better.

What do you think about beef liver capsules which offers much nutrients including Iron. When do you think it's best to start taking during pregnancy?

Im 36 weeks 3days and my last CBC @ 32 weks shows my hemoglobin levels at 9.1. Before it was at 10.9 at 8weeeks then 8.6 at 16 weeks. I was given 600mg ferrous sulfate TID but still 8.6 at 28weeks. I then have ferritin test, my Iron levels at normal range, I then have HPLC test, it was found out I am positive for beta-Thalassemia carrier. I was advised by the OB to stop taking ferrous sulfate and continue with the folic acid and a healthy diet. Hoping for a better CBC result on our next OB visit tomorrow.

I am strongly considering a home birth with the midwife I've used at a doctors practice for 3 years. She left the practice this year to practice in home births instead. I am at risk for preterm labor and my last pregnancy ended in chorioamnionitis at 20 weeks. I am currently seeing a high risk doctor but I hate everyone in that office and don't like the hospital. I just don't trust or feel comfortable with any of the providers. I just want to be comfortable this time around as it will most likely be our last baby. Decisions Decisions. 🙄

Thanks for info! Wouldn’t supplementing be wise regardless of getting test done? My daughter is anemic in general and already supplementing, and she’s 34 weeks.

My midwife just did my 28 week tests. I went from a 14.4 at my 10 week appointment to a 11.50 at my 28 week appointment. No wonder I was feeling lethargic! She now has me on the supplement blood builder 2x a day.

Do you think you could do a video about panic attacks and anxiety during labor?

Do you need this test if you WERE diagnosed anemic at 28 weeks? I’ve been on an OTC iron supplement for 4 weeks now but wondering if that’s enough

Hi there! Is it bad to take these even if we have a good hemoglobin? I believe I was at 13 but if I start taking additional around 36 weeks would that be harmful to baby or I?

when considering taking these supplements to boost iron levels do you choose just one or take all of them or a mixture of them and how many times a day should it be taken ?
