California land is great it's just that the state gov't and people that vote for them suck; which makes the state suck and people move out to get away from oppressive rule. If you still live there your taxes are contributing in direct counter to being able to legally purchase and install fun stuff like this. This dude is probably feeling a bit guilty about that.
