Ashwagandha (Withania Somnifera)—Indian Winter cherry or Indian Ginseng

I suffered serious autoimmune from years of stress, anxiety.
Hard to know the best form to take as standardized or tested proprietary versions vary, but a root and root extract 350mg caps, 2.5mg Withanolides has had a noticeable effect.
'Full Spectrum' of natural compounds seems to me the best route.
I can concentrate without intrusive thoughts, internal dialogue . . . I notice a quietness inside, even as I watch this video, no external or internal distractions.
My main reason for taking it is to avoid prostate meds like Flomax, Beta-blockers. Within a day or two my 'flow' became normal. Pretty amazing.

I am into 4th day of taking took first capsule before bed and noticed cortisol levels were reduced during night which was amazing. Definitely feeling slightly less anxious. Hoping for improvement in sleep next.

Thanks for the concise video. Personally I have used Ashwagandha for years-everyday for a while, then cycled and then intuitively, as and when required. For Ashwagandha to be effective for me, it has to be a minimum of 5% Withanolides and I am not saying it has to be KSM-66, just a minimum of 5% active compounds-but if anybody wants to take a form of Ashwagandha that has a minimum of 'anhedonia' potential, it's KSM-66. I've had that, Sensoril and Shoden many times, but lately, for me it's Shoden and a basic Ashwagandha extract at 5% Withanolides that are my preferences. Anhedonia, or the 'flattening out' of the ability to feel pleasure in everyday activities, is for some people an often experienced side-effect of Ashwagandha, which from personal experience, I remedied by combining my usual dose with a low dose of Rhodiola rosea extract, (200mg, standardised to 3% rosavins/1% salidrosides), before eventually cycling both of them off. Thanks once again, for an objective analysis of this herb.

KSM-66 works great for me regarding stress. I feel less anxious and more positive. Shoden on the other hand, it’s so strong I’m not sure it makes me feel happier because it knocks me out. The first time I took it right before driving home from work, and I nearly fell asleep while in the car.

No matter what form, Ashwagandha is a magical supplement for those of us stuck in high stress. Combined with exercise it changed my life. Exercise is a slow and steady thing, but Ashwagandha is much more acute. Even translates to measurable results- my HRV never used to get past 30. Now it’s consistently in the high 60s.

What about taking it in a powder form? I was taking it 1-2x a day, a small teaspoon or slightly more mixed in the water. How does this amount compare to the supplements mentioned in the video?

Thanks for this :) Could you do such breakdown too on astragalus??? I think this is a super plant that isnt known so much yet. It is often compared to Ashwaganda.
