4 Ingredient Homemade Mochi Ice Cream

Making Mochi Ice Cream from scratch can be super duper easy. That is..if you use this guide. The mochi itself only takes about 30 minutes to make and 4 ingredients. After that you just need an ice cream you like and you're good to go!

Granulated sugar: 60 grams

*edit 1* : the microwaving technique is so nice. saves lots of time. i added way too much red food coloring to my dough, so now it’s neon pink instead of baby pink 🥲 (add the food coloring LITTLE BY LITTLE after the last 30 seconds!)
*edit 2* : the dough was not very sticky at all for me after using just a bit of cornstarch. it stayed nice and “unsticking” lol. very easy to roll out. i did not have a big enough cookie sheet so i just put the entire cutting board with the rolled out dough in the fridge!
*edit 3* : just rolled up 16 balls worth of mochi. it was an annoying process with some of my mochi dough ripping! i used 2 tbsp sized balls of ice cream and used an almost 4 inch wide dough size. it was alright though. wrapped them in foil since i didn’t have plastic wrap. let’s see how it tastes later! gonna let it freeze more for two hours

EDIT - LOL SORRY GUYS I FORGOT ABOU THIS. but i can tell u, yes, its really really good. i've made this 3 times now. i find that u dont really need to refrigerate the dough before wrapping the ice cream with it. and also i didnt pre-freeze the ice cream balls and it turned out nice! and i always did a dumpling style wrapping bc its easier, then i cut off the extra dough and reroll it to make more mochi! overall, its really good. totally my bad for not replying sooner

I remember 4 years ago, watching this video for the first time. I was alone in my kitchen and i thought i would make this dessert. It turned out disgusting, as i thought i can replace rice flour with the regular.
I met a guy who also watches your videos, and we bonded over this EXACT video. Today we made mochis together, (which turned out very amazing btw) since it is our anniversary. And we make them every anniversary watching this guy, because we call it our “bonding dish” and this is our “bonding video”. So thank you so much for *bonding* us and please, never delete this. 😂❤️The recipe is very easy and basically perfect! Just don’t use alternative ingredients if you want it to actually taste good.
