You were coming from Host to a Virtual CPU type, so you are limited to what the virtual CPU type would be. Going host gives you the full instructions of the Host CPU. So you are never gonna get a better performance with a virtual cpu type.

7to8 doesn't make any changes to a node. it's ONLY an analysis tool to see how the update to 8 might work based on a node's current configuration settings

I'm no expert by any stretch, but I think it might be interesting to compare how math-intensive applications run on 12th gen intel and later relative to 11th and earlier (5000 series and later/earlier for Ryzen). 12th generation is when Intel removed the AVX-512 instruction set support, which had a huge (negative) impact on some of my compiled applications unless they were carefully optimized for given processor.

Question: Using Proxmox has the benefit of easily backing up and restoring VMs in case something goes wrong. However, what should the user do if a Proxmox upgrade fails? Is it necessary always to upgrade Proxmox? Because as a user without a subscription, you have to follow additional steps to upgrade. Maintaining Proxmox AND a VM vs. Baremetal costs more time. But the benfits of a virtualized server (full backups) is still an argument.

We see that you are running Monterey on your Proxmox and I am wondering if you would be willing to make videos showing how well it is working. There are all sorts of videos on how to get MacOS running as a VM on Proxmox and KVM, but no one is showing any videos of how well it actuall works either as a remote or as a local desktop.

1. Use the popped out shell /console - top right for the shell to the PVE and VM/LXC
2. RTFM beter instead of just cowboy style ;(

You didn't tell the New CPU type without the AES flag.

I would love to try this, but everyone installs this on a mini pc or pi.
Can it not be installed on the main PC like your one in the video, & boot into OS that way, say on the same NVMe drive.
I think @MorgonautHackintosh does it, but her videos are too long, 5hrs long & are all over the place.
