How to Install Mods in ETS2/ATS (2024)

Complete guide about installing every type of mod in Euro Truck Simulator 2 and American Truck Simulator.

Inside some mods, you can find a file called "manifest sii", this file is super important, DO NOT rename it or else the game won't detect it and cause the mod to break. Now the purpose of this file also contains something important; compatible versions, if the mod is from a different version it might result in it being incompatible and you being unable to use it. So what you want to do is rename the compatible version to the current one you have (e.g compatible version is 1.41, you edit it to 1.45). When looking back at the mod manager the mod will become compatible and you will be able to use it.

They should add a feature for these mods to be updated automatically and any mod for any version, for example, we are playing 1.45, but for example traffic AI by jazzycat is for 1.36, SCS should add these features.

And another one is the feature of the mod, for example, "ATS Trucks in ETS2" then we can go into the details of that mod, then maybe what I don't like is in the game or becomes a mod, I can disable it from the active mode. For example, in the details of the ATS wheels pack. Because I don't like it I can disable it and then, when I hit the "Save Changes" option in this mod, instead of ATS wheels, they will turn into ETS2 wheels, this will definitely be a great feature!

Yo I have a problom. When I download mods only 2 appear, the rest are nowhere to be found. I did activate all of them but only 2 appear so like is there another way I can do this? :(
