This is a really disappointing comparison. I own a Google TV Chromecast and what he is saying about lots of areas just aren't true. The device almost never lags. It's not buttery smooth granted, but it is not a problem from any perspective. There have been lots of updates since launch to improve performance and how the device is today is different to what was presented in this video. Moreover, the idea of seeing content from services you don't subscribe to is completely false. When you set up a Chromecast TV you can specify what services you want to include in the for you tab. I use several different services (free and paid) and I love how the Google knowledge graph tries to predict what I want to watch. It is often really successful.

It is also heavily integrated with your Google home services. So you can use a nest hub or speaker to command the TV for example.

There's a lot about the Chromecast that he just didn't cover and that's upsetting.

If you want to learn more about Chromecast, I wouldn't recommend this video at all. You want to go to a youtuber who put a lot of preparation into their videos and the changes that came in this version of Android. Whenever a youtuber who's "reviewing" a product says "correct me if I'm wrong".... You know you aren't getting the best.

I’m an iPhone user but I’ve always loved the chromecast because of how simple it is to cast from my iPhone apps to the tv via chromecast, using the cast icon in the corner of whatever video or show I’m watching on my in iPhone. I don’t believe Apple TV has anything like that. They do have some sort of casting but it’s not as clean and simple. I’ll try casting a YouTube video to my Apple tv and if I receive a call on my phone the video completely disconnects from my tv just because I’m receiving a call on my phone. On this new chromecast with Google tv do they still keep that simple feature?

You can stream apple music on Chromecast, but only if your apple music is from your android device, not iOS device
