If an update to the Tejas MK1 is having this many delays, imagine when we'll really get AMCA. Sigh. I'm warming to the idea of at least a few squadrons of Su-57m to bridge the gap with our Su-30 production lines converted to it. There will be a lot of commonality with the Su-30MKI upgrade program where we can use cutting edge jammers replacing the Russian ones etc.

If HAL was aware of future engine delays, why was there no contingency plan to ensure that there is no delay in the delivery of Tejas MK1A? This is no doubt a big mistake and the Defense Ministry should hold HAL accountable and seek answers as to why this happened.

It's disappointing to see the Army procurement and planning committees operate this way—they should learn from the Navy.
