3 pvt companies. 2 production lines each. 8 jets annually on each line translates to 64 jets annually. This is the right capacity required in times of a war to replenish lost fighters and to build a serious aircraft manufacturing and repair hub in India. Without private companies involvement it will remain a pipe dream.

Updates should be authentic. Merely bluff by any one self proclaimed defence expert should be avoided. It's reduce value of channel.

This upgrade is one problem with European fighters than Russian fighters. Its Mirage 2000's is the one which needs good AESA radar and long range BVR missile firing capability. No idea what Air Force achieved in 2011 in the 2.2 Billion dollar Mirage 2000 upgrade with overall output less than F16s.

Why acquire the rafale first and then later integrate local systems, better to the rafale with current systems than having to wait for it.
