A deal with Brazil involving the Tejas Mk 1A & Mk II as well as licensed manufacture of Embraer C 390 in India, would be mutually beneficial to both countries. Could also pave the way for joint development of the AMCA.

US keeps on delaying F404/414, Apache, etc and we pile on orders with MQ9?

Let's be realistic. Tejas as an export is a good proposition, but HAL can't even meet the domestic demand, so the prospects of countries opting to realistically buy it for operational use is unrealistic.

The Tejas platform should be deployed with the IAF before export or joint ventures are considered. It should be a proven aircraft before it is exported. There has been a lot of speculation on the sale or joint ventures which have not become a reality or some which are just "talk'. It should be noted that Egypt chose the Chinese J-10 platform and Argentina the F-16. We need to have an in-depth knowledge of who are potential customers by understanding their respective geopolitical situations.

Diversifying armored vehicles increases logistics costs and considering higher cost of Stryker, it will affect the number of vehicles we can induct.

India should sign agreement to procure C390 and sale of ATAGS, Tejas, Brahmos etc.

There is no need to fall in export or Brazil trap first and foremost we need to make out whether we will be able to produce significant number of LCA for Indian Air Force or the program will be hanging in Doldrums as of now there is not much clarity on the grand success of LCA Tejas program!!!

Both being the member of BRICS and emerging powers in Latin America and South Asia respectively, Brazil and India should pro actively consider this barter deal especially India as we have huge budget limitations in our defence sector. This will create opportunities at both sides especially for the defense as well as civil aviation sector.🇮🇳🤝🇧🇷

The Brazil swap deal sounds good ! Tejas is the platform and a deal would also open avenues of selling indigenous payloads like Astra, Rudram, Saaw etc.

Gentlemen, as a Brazilian I can give you a broader view of the agreements that are being drawn up.

The agreements are so big, on so many topics, and involve so many billions of dollars, that whether Brazil acquires the Tejas or not would make little difference to India.

Although I believe that yes, there is interest from Brazil in the Tejas Mk1A, there is also interest in the Nilgiri class frigates, the Bhramos, the Akash NG, partnerships in satellites, maintenance of conventional and nuclear submarines, production of the KC390 and civil E-jets in Indian territory, Brazilian agricultural technology and vice versa, critical minerals and foods, etc etc etc.

Do you understand what this is about? Greetings from Brazil, to our brothers from India.

The Striker deal should be put in a limbo just like the US is dilly dallying on the F404 engines and the Apache helicopter delivery.

Should be 'Very Limited' order of Stryker in order to understand and use indigenous systems on our future Indian Projects (Joining hands together Kalyani-Mahindra-Tata) for a perfect IFV for the nation. Its a tough but we can see how it goes in USA when collaborating together.

For time being india may try old Mirrage 2000 engine n fit it into Tejas n remove 40 f404 engines from tejas n fit it into tejas mk1A till india comes out with kaveri engine ready

BARTER SYSTEM should be at initial stage for attracting other customers.

No need for exporting Tejas MK-1A or MK-2 to Brazil, until either General electric starts supplying Jet engines on time or Kaveri engines are successfully integrated into future Tejas aircrafts.

We have huge need, so combination of stryker and Whap is going to happen. Stryker brings better active protection whereas Whap brings amphibious capability.

ATR needs to seriously look at acquiring rights to Dornier 328 (jet version) and Make In India as our short haul workhorse btwn smaller airports. Legendary reliability, which is more important than anything else in Indian conditions.
