I think these ratios are off. An old fashioned should be 2.00oz whiskey, 0.25oz simple, 0.10oz bitters, a total of 2.35 ounces of liquid. Standard whiskey bottle holds 25.36 ounces. This means the bottle can hold approximately 10.79 drinks. You should put out about 3.75 ounces of whiskey, add 2.75 ounces of simple, and 1.00 ounces of bitters. This will get you much closer to a balanced old fashioned.

And make sure you tap your ring on the bottle, maximum 2 times…
