Why is everyone wondering if Stevie's blind when Paul's the one who didn't see the mic?

Well I'm blind and I'm telling you, after seeing this video, I can assure you that Stevie isn't blind.

Maybe he heard Paul hit the microphone? He has 64 years of experience being blind, I'm sure he can do stuff that would amaze all of us despite being blind.

he didnt even get a good grab at it, he just stuck his hand out and it landed on him

He’s blind. But he’s the man, the GOAT. You mortals need to stop trying to figure it out, he’s on another level. He’s been in the zone nearly six decades.

To be fair, he reaches out at almost the exact moment it begins to fall, less than a quarter of a second, I know few people who can react to something that quickly by sight. Not only that, but Paul clearly bumps the mic, it's possible it made an audible noise that Stevie heard, and reacted to, or even that Paul himself made a noise when he hit his head on it.

It could be explained away that he possibly heard the thud, knew Paul hit the mic, and instinctively reached out to catch it...but what made him think the mic was falling over?  Paul could have just as easily hit the mic and had it not fall over.  The only possibility I can think of is that in rehearsal that happened once or twice so he recognized that the mic stand wasn't so steady and that any hit would send it over.  Other than that rare possibility, it sure seems like he can see.

I don't think it's instinct. His arm was reaching out as soon as the mic started falling it didn't brush his arm or anything

He felt the shadow move on his skin. Duh! Clearly you don't know blind black people.

You can clearly see he's reaching out his arm, when he feels PM passing by.
BUT you can see the mic falling onto hes arm and that's when he responses to grab the stand of the mic.
So it was just coincidence, you can see it clearer when you keep replaying the drop of the mic over and over. I think if he would have seen it fall, he would try to grab the mic and not the stand. I think someone with full vision, would even try to grab it with hes two hands.

If you look at the 5sec mark you can see his hand is wide open, palm inward with no mic stand. I can only assume that this song was rehearsed, Stevie knew Paul was going to cross in front of him, put his hand out for a five and Paul just happen to knock the mic over at that time giving the appearance that he was reacting to the mic instead of Paul. The guitarist is the one that actually caught the mic.

Over the course of an entire night of performing, he knew where the microphone was, and it brushes his elbow so that he catches it. If you were blind, remembering where objects are without seeing them (something people with sight can do too) is a crucial part of getting around in life.

Stevie knows exactly where the mic is, most likely made some slight adjustments to it and knew its characteristics.  That being said he knew when he heard the thunk of Sir Paul hitting the mic when he ran by he knew which mic had been hit and in which direction it would fall.  Tripod stands tip fairly easily but in one direction only.

If somebody bumps up against a mic stand, as a experienced performer you'd hear a particular sound through your monitor & your hand would react in a similar way, even without seeing anything. i think this is either coincidence or being (un)lucky. anyway this man is a musical divinity & eternal legend ... whether he'd be blind or not: i don't f***ing care.

The guy that passed by him touched him, so feeling the momentum of the guy, he tried to feel his presence. Coincidentally the guy also hit the mic stand while Stevie was trying to feel him.
