Why do people not understand what is meant by 'legally blind'?

Most people who are blind have partial vision, folks. It’s rare to be 100% blind.

all his other senses are heightened, as he moves the crowd effortlessly feeling the vibrations of everyone's movements. With his extreme sense of smell, he smells boy George armpits and goes in for the headlock. His heightens sense of intelligence and feel for vibration at this point in his life he aims above the smell of boy Goerge armpits. The Stevie Wonder has struck again.

Stevie used having normal off vision as a boost for him playing the piano. He wasn't top 20 but after the faking blindness he rose to the top because people love a good disability triumph story

Stevie isn’t BLIND. He’s legally blind.. fuck I’m legally blind… I’m sure like 10% of Americans are legally blind haha but god DAMN do I love hearing Stevie rabbit holes 😂

He always had some vision. I think he had surgery to improve his sight, got into an accident and went back to having really low vision.

It doesn't help that he always jokes about sight and seeing.

There is a misconception that blind people cant see ANYTHING. And yes, for some that is the case, but for others and many, there is still SOME vision there. Now, I dunno what kind if blindness Stevie has, but it seems that he has some (very extremely) limited vision. A lot of blind people can see shadow, fuzzy objects, very very smal pin holes of sight. So no, I think the whole joke of “but is he” is just poor taste at this point.
