It's so amazing to see people discovering the 2012 magic lantern and see the wonders we did with the 7d and T3i

You said it! There is a very easy learning curve to use the Magic Lantern hack but the quality that this camera produces just blows my mind for the price. With the right lens you footage is gonna pop- I favor the TTArtisan 35mm. For less than 300$ you can be set up with an incredible kit. I wish someone had told me this before I spent hours upon hours watching vids on overpriced high end cameras like the GH6 / S5 /sigma etc… save your money.

the real baby Alexa is OG BMPCC. The Fairchild sensor is equipped with the same dual-gain technology as the ALEV sensor ;)

Couldn't help but watch the ENTIRE video. Very intriguing concept. Very interested to see what results can be gained with this set-up. Looking forward to seeing the limitations of dynamic range.

A Canon T2i and Magic Lantern changed my life about 12 years ago. That's when I figured out that I personally could actually shoot good quality video. I was a still photographer and had been trying to teach myself how to shoot video and the camcorder I was using wasn't cutting it....but I thought it was ME who wasn't cutting it. That's when a buddy of mine turned me on to the Canon T2i and Magic Lantern. I still remember how joyous it was to realize in just one weekend that I could shoot SO MUCH BETTER video than I thought I could. One of the biggest things for me was that Magic Lantern gave me so much more control of the audio on the T2i. Suddenly you had audio levels right on the screen! Not to mention zebras and tons of exposure control. I've graduated to more advanced cameras now but I still have that T2i to this day...and even bought a second one for a two camera setup back then. I had no idea Magic Lantern was even still a thing! Glad to hear it's still hanging in there!

I made it to the end. This was super helpful. I’m trying to find something affordable that shoots good video in low light for under $300

I’m happy with the direction of the channel, keep it up! Also wish magic lantern was available for more canon cameras however to be fair, it is reliant on volunteers and I don’t doubt it’s been getting harder and harder to code and debug the new cameras.

I think you're going to win YouTube with this video.

I didn't know about your channel before this, it came up in my notifications.

I'm a black magic fan, but love a good hack.

Thanks for posting this video, it's right up my street.

Magic lantern sure does some interesting stuff, but it doesn’t really make sense that such a small camera doesn’t just blow up or something😆

That's a cool tool for people learning if they want to become movie makers.

Made it to the end. Sounds like a nice project

It’s a shame magic lantern isn’t available for newer Canon cameras. I had quite a lot of success with it 5-8years ago. Though some of the features I used are now built into the R series.

I'd love to see a magic lantern type program come to older Sony and Panasonic cameras. I'd love to see what a a6000 series of G85 could do when hacked

This was actually my very first camera ever and I’m really disappointed I ever sold it! Great little kit!

Good coincidence, I was already on the hunt to buy this camera, but for other reasons like getting a full frame lens on it with speed booster adapter and to use a 25mm 1.4 CCTV lens with C Mount, but now I have a third and most important reason, I can record in fucking raw and get focus peaking? Hell fucking yeah!! Thank you!!

Wow, very cool. I've bought one just to do black and white photography and I wasn't aware this can be mentioned on the same page as an Arri Alexa. 😊

Really enjoyed that little subliminal “Like Button” animation at 6:12.
Found myself liking the video before I even realized it.

I bought one of EOS-Ms years ago to use as a high tripod camera for exterior photography. When I got the DJI Ronin, it also became my video camera, though I was using it with the the Cinestyle profile rather than ML. I had ML, but never really dug deep into it. I’ll check out your other videos and see what else it can do.

Nice one. Looking forward to the follow-up. I own two Canon Ms myself with decently low shutter counts in mint condition. I'm currently saving up and building them up into cinema rigs to shoot short pieces and music videos.
