DO NOT DO THIS to Your MacBook Air M1!

Something I found out recently about improper opening/closing of the MacBook Air M1 model. The screen is prone to cracking apparently.

No doubt we all want beautiful devices but we also want practical devices, too. Even though you're making a video about this, I think it's ridiculous that we pay so much for something and this is something we have to be mindful of. The fault shouldn't always be passed onto us, the user. Apple is notorious for this and not taking responsibility for their own design flaws. Antenna gate. Butterfly keyboard. And now this...

These devices are strong enough and doesn't matter where you put the pressure on, they won't break. I have seen a bunch of MacBooks stacked over each other and still no damages. As long as there is no object between you keyboard and screen (lid) and you are not dropping it from height, these laptops are very durable.

Thank you for doing this review. Mine cracked after two months. Be very careful with it. Apple has a lawsuite for this reason for the M1 and it costs around 700 bucks to fix.

This happens because the lid of the macbook is so thin the glass can be easily broken if not shut or opened properly. Macbooks are supposed to be opened by the lip of the lid.

I have carried my MAC M1 air holding the screen with my thumb and index finger, to the next room several times. I have slammed the screen more than 200 times. I have Putted a lot of pressure to clear the camera while doing office calls. Verdict: These screens are well built and can handle the pressure of your fingers. It will only break if you apply a lot of force to it. (mostly while attaching those hard cases)

I still have a MacBook Pro late 2011 and I can tell that the aluminum feels more sturdy than my new MacBook Air M1 whit recycled aluminum.

The only thing that bothers me about this laptop is how anxious im around it, i miss the feeling of the old lenovo that i would just slap around and treat like garbage.

The point is, that this is a portable device and it should be robust enough to be handled without fear of breakage.

I'm typing this on a 2015 MBA and this fucking thing is robust! The excuse of 'the laptop needs ot be slim' is bullshit. Did I say MBA? Truth is, they used cheaper displays. When I get a replacement, I'm selling it.

We shouldn't be afraid of our laptops breaking so easily.

If the lid flexes so much that the screen glass can break during a simple opening or closing from the corner instead of the middle, that's obviously, to any sane person a design problem and inherent flaw
