Another tip. You can sell fields for the same price you purchase them. So if you see one that's ready to harvest, you can buy it. Harvest the crop off it. Then sell it for the same price. Great for when you're low on cash.

As a new player, I actually liked playing with seasons turned on because I felt like it gave me built-in structure for when I was "supposed" to do certain things. Like, "Okay, now it is harvest season" or "Now it is winter, time to make sure all my equipment is repaired" etc. Greenhouses can also be a good way to start bringing in some low-effort income as well, and a lot of my field equipment is sponsored straight from greenhouse profits.

Also a tip. If you gonna sell equipment (Tractors, cars, trailer etc) drive them over to the place where you do mechanic work at the shop and you get 20% more for it

Another tip, you can do 3 contracts at a time, get contracts that require similar tools, borrow the tools on the contract that cost the least then do all the contracts to get the most money and avoid unnecessary rental fees 😝 you can also keep the contract you rented the equipment on active, close out the other 2 contracts and collect the money and begin 2 new contracts and continue to do the same process over and over!

Another tip, at least from what I did in FS 19, is that some of your field may have tall grass, or trees, that you can make a little extra money to cut. I forgot to get a house, and didn't know of any other way to skip time, so I literally just spent all the time doing contracts until I noticed that I could get a chainsaw to get rid of some annoying trees as well as a mower to get rid of the tall grass so my land looked neat. Made for an interesting back story of my farmer sleeping in the truck, but gave me enough time waiting to watch more tutorial videos to learn what I was doing wrong.

Good video. I would only make one argument. Tip 9. I wouldn't turn off any of the field prep except maybe the stone. I recall going super easy in FS17 (my first FS title) and then later, much later, started adding field prep back in. This is a significant change in the game. Now there's plowing to do, I need a plow. Now I have to fertilize more often, I need a fertilizer. So, making the game super simple to begin with doesn't always pay dividends in the end. Crop destruction, seasons, wilting (if it can turned off) should definitely be disabled for a time while the feel for the game becomes more natural.

A little appendix to tip 5, know what you’re buying. Bigger isn’t always better. If you can get big equipment at the discount menu by all means do it, but putting a 12m head on your starting combine will make offloading difficult.

Also, note the field size. You might be able to do a small field in 1 or 2 passes with large equipment, but it could potentially get hung up on something on the edge of the field, like a fence or trees or parked equipment.

Also also, bigger equipment requires a stronger tractor. Meaning instead of planting quickly with the starter planter, a larger planter on the starting tractor would go much slower.

Farmer Cop, planting oilseed radish has a big advantage. It costs very little in seed price. It can then be cultivated for one full fertilizer state after one month. In essence, virtually free fertilizer. This happens after only one month. With seasonal cycles, it is very advisable to do it on every field. That being said, I love your content. Keep up the good work. Stay safe out there.

I've been playing for a while (and subscribed to you channel!), but I still learned something from the video. Thanks for taking the time to do this!

The best tip for beginners that most videos dont cover is to quickly get 1 or 2 medium size field at a minimum. U will quickly find out that a problem that the game only tends to give u small fields at the start. Now for the total beginner that is fine to learn how the equipment is used but the moment u wanna start to expand and get bigger equipment u will run into a massive roadblock, MONEY. The medium equipment per say isent to expensive however it quickly ramps up when u realise how mutch new things u need to buy and even more so when u look at the horsepower requirment for the tractor that u need to use them. The small fields u get at the start are way to small to support any kind of expansion. U need bigger fields and u need them fast before u get stuck in a loop of having to harvest 2-3 small fields while barely making a profit on them.

Another tip I had this problem with 19 I got bored because I wasn’t growing fast enough in my opinion but once you hit a certain point you grow very fast so just keep going you’ll get to where you want to be eventually And when I figured that out I liked the game so much that I pre-ordered 22 and it’s one of my favorite games

My tip is to get enough no work money generators like wind/solar on your farm to cover the base property and equipment costs, so that way you can stock up on your products and diversify your crops without having to worry about going broke while you wait for a good deal. Sell Price Trigger is a good mod to tell you when a good time to sell is without having to have an excel spreadsheet.
You really only need one or two tractors and your basic tools, things like combines that you only use once a harvest really can be leased without a huge hit to your bottom line, it's better to buy land than it is to buy equipment.
