I found out a trick that may save you some steps - select your project and then go to FILE < Delete Generated Project Files - it should wipe out all the data after exporting the deliverable

Great tips. I just finished a 3 minute corporate video with footage from 2 cams, and the FCPX library is 400GB.
My normal routine is to shift everything to a 1TB external SSD while I'm working on it, then move it to a 20TB physical drive when I'm done.

This method will save me a tone of HD space and expense. Thanks :)

Can you explain why the "FCPX Files" folder is put onto an external drive? It seemed like you didn't really explain the significance of where that file should be place, and how you maintain the files from project to project... I was curious as to where the 60 or so GB of data went. What happens if you delete the cache files on a current project? Is your project lost forever?
