I decline most orders under $7 shortly after i started dashing. I learned quick that they are not worth it and usually i get a better order right after for less distance lol

There will be a lot more acceptance rate if doordash made a base pay of 1$ per mile, for example $3 base pay plus $2 tip= $5 for a 10mile order DoorDash should then increase the minimum payout for this order to $10 by either increasing their base pay or charging the customer a higher delivery fee.

Especially now with gas being so expensive

I wish DD would just display the complete amount collected like UberEats. That way we can understand how much DD is really receiving from each order.

Uber Eats is better. You can start driving at anytime you want, no block schedules.

I multi app uber and dd. I have my parameters for accepting an order and stick to it. The only way I would accept a lowball offer is maybe im going home and its convenient.

Got an order yesterday $3 for 9 miles - hard pass! What an insult! $2 per mile minimum!

They should require a minimum tip of $2 at least.

Instead of declining I just let the clock expire as I've done for months

I don't take anything under $5 anymore, I drive for uber eats and that means less than $5, they barely tipped. I also don't like driving more than 20 min for an order

I have been lied to about the total of miles. I got an order saying 11 miles total. no it was 23 miles out and another 23miles back. that made the entire pay way below then what is should have been. I got a little less than $13 for that order with the tip paying more than the base and promotion of an extra $1 for peak pay. I was so pissed off because I had to drive way out of town into another. no joke I live in modesto I had to cross riverbank, Patterson, and went all the way out into Oakdale. I have never been so pissed. I wanted to throw that damn order out the window.and then having to drive all the way back into my city.

I multi-app full-time with ubereats, doordash, and GrubHub. My doordash acceptance rating is currently sitting at 9% with over 2, 000 deliveries. I made over $6, 200 last month working 5 days a week. I guess you could say I was unknowingly part of the decline now movement. I think I would feel slightly different about it if I only did doordash, but then again if somebody is only doing one app, they're doing it wrong anyway to begin with.

Had signed up for Door Dash but never went out for any deliveries. Last weekend they did the 10 deliveries for an extra $200 promo so I figured I could give it a shot. My observations from doing it over a 4 day period.
There are some merchants you DO NOT want to accept deliveries from. In my location that is any McDonalds since they make you go through the drive thru to pick up the order. Did one order from each of the two locations in this area. Waiting 20 minutes in a drive thru line is not worth any order, especially when I notice the car in front of me is also picking up a delivery order.
Door Dash was constantly sending me orders that required traveling out of the service area I was in. Now this wasn't so bad as I only took them when they had multiple orders going to these out of area deliveries. If they were a single order I would just refuse them and say too far to drive.
I took a bunch of Wal-Mart delivery orders to see how bad that would be. Lots of items so that's a negative for sure, and many were out of delivery area as well, but again I refused the orders until I had multiple orders going to those remote locations. And to my surprise I had more than one Wal-Mart customer add on a tip after delivery.
Now I was using my 4wd large pick up truck, definitely not a fuel efficient vehicle. After running through $70 in gas I had made 24 deliveries. Not counting the extra $200 bonus, I averaged $6.13 per delivery or about $12.27 per hour.
Now a more fuel efficient vehicle would obviously increase these amounts, but even then I don't see them increasing enough to make it a viable option for myself as I can make considerably more doing other things. Now I should mention that I am retired and I suppose for other retirees this may be enough extra money to make it worth while.

Been on the decline now movement for a hot minute now. These low paying orders will ruin your day FAST. Once you accept one, they keep on rolling in. I cannot do that.

I have been declining anything less than $7 and does not meet my threshold of $2/mile for years....nothing new to me.

$1.50/mile minimum, only fast restaurants, no Walmart/Walgreens, and if you aren't tipping, good luck on a busy night.

DD is great but I feel like they be robbing us especially with double orders like how come the 2nd order is always $2 or $3 extra except when it’s a promo going on then it’s higher.

I stick to my parameters I set for myself. 5.50 if under 1 mile. $6.00 up to 4.0 miles, add $1.25 for each additional mile after that. If there is peak pay, add that to my minimums to make sure I am truly earning the peak pay. Stay away from Wendy's unless it is a Great offer.
