A couple things are clear for me for the 2025 releases:
1) taylormade wants to be cobra this year, but will continue to have issues because gluing carbon to titanium doesn’t work.
2) cobra’s new hozzel is neat, but won’t make a big difference at all for the average player.
3) Callaway needs to fire whoever is in charge of aesthetics on their drivers, because… uhh…. wtf is that?
4) Srixon is going to get a little more recognition this year on the woods line. The last ones were really good. This one is seemingly just an improved one.
5) they’ll still all be overpriced and promise the world while not being all that much different than last year.

There was a window last year, here in the US anyway, where the G400 Max Drivers were right around $100-$120 (Nov.-Dec, 23'). Held 5 or 6 in hand at PGA SuperStore & GolfGalaxy, then new drivers dropped & 10K MOI was all the rage and the prices shot up as a cheaper 10K alternative. Those same G400 Drivers in the same exact condition are fetching $190+ now.

My local Golf Mart had the g430 max at 399$ with fitting into your selection of shaft stock shaft options obviously. For brand new driver couldn't pass it up I did buy the QI 10 brand new at the beginning of the season but the Ping just works better for me happy I got it.

My go-to driver right now is a 2018 Bridgestone JGR head that I bought from Japan for US$40, and then had my local golf store install a stiff Even Flow shaft in with a midsize grip. Total cost about $150 and this driver is consistently long and straight. None of my newer drivers - Callaway, PXG, Honma - can beat it.

Another great informative video Simon. I love that fact that the titles of your videos are factual with no sensationalist claims. It is clear that your integrity in your content is paramount. Keep up the good work.
I'm sure you've done one but I'd love to see a video from you about 2nd hand wedges.
I could use help with these as my short game isn't the best ! What loft / bounce would work best for a 19HC

For clubs, I always expect more of the same with different colors and great marketing. Not planning on buying anything other than golf balls in 2025 though. ⛳️

I went from a 94-95 Callaway Warbird driver that I bought new at the time, to a Ping G425 Max that I got on sale for a couple hundred off. I had numerous free fittings at my local golf shops and stores, before deciding on what worked best for me and what I felt most comfortable with. I golfed quite a bit in the 90's into the early 2000s. I golfed, maybe once per year between 2005 and 2021. That's why my trusty old Warbird was still in my bag. I've been very pleased with my G425 Max. I don't see any reason to change. A possible couple of yards longer from the "latest and greatest" won't do much for my game. I'd be better off spending "new club money" on lessons if I really wanted to improve my drives. Maybe 5 years down the road I'll make a change.

TS2 at $125. Z785 for same price. 2018 drivers are sweet spot with great MOI and technology.

I don’t need a driver since ping just replaced my 430 lst cuz it cracked so it’s only a month old. I might give the 440 a chance just see if there are any gains. For some reason the 430 found more fairways for me than the 425 and sounded better.

No just another con, I used the taylormade M2 2016, awesome driver in my bag and staying there, you can put so much technology in a driver, but it's still the person using it, no matter the technology, well so called technology.
Sorry Simon but I am very cynical in all the claims of these brands.
Like you said in your top driver opinions you said taylormade M2 was epic and the cobra King F9 again I think you are completely right about these drivers.
That's why I'm sticking with my M2.
For me I cannot justify spending stupid amounts on a driver it's ridiculous, especially nowadays.
I say to your subscribers stick with what you are comfortable with, and don't worry about the golfer who has all the really expensive clubs, clothing etc.but can't hit a ball to save their life, just stand back and laugh, brand snobs.

I’ve had a sneaky peak at the new Wilson Staff driver and it looks amazing, however having just bought the dynapower driver (which I hit pretty well), I just don’t see the point of upgrading for a good few years
